This app saved my marriage, taught my cat algebra, and made me the Rainman of Multiplication

I downloaded Raceway Math thinking it would help my kid get faster at basic math. What I didn’t expect was that it would transform my entire household into a pit crew of number-crunching champions.

Day 1: My son blazes through addition like a Formula 1 driver on a straightaway. I blink and suddenly I’m hooked. My spouse catches me hiding under the covers at 2 a.m., whispering, “Carry the one… carry the one…” like some kind of math-obsessed racetrack announcer.

Day 3: My cat walks across my iPad during a subtraction challenge and somehow gets a perfect score. We now suspect he’s been moonlighting as a feline math tutor.

Day 5: I start calculating grocery totals in my head before the cashier scans them. The cashier calls me “Rain Man with a driver’s license.” I accept this as a compliment.

Day 10: Neighborhood kids gather outside my house, chanting “Raceway! Raceway!” like I’m running an underground math grand prix.

This isn’t just an app. It’s an experience. It’s like Mario Kart and a math teacher had a baby, and that baby grew up to be a genius with a need for speed.

Response from developer

Well, I don’t have a cat, but sounds like it would make for a great video!

Finally, an app that makes my kid stop asking me if ‘math is over yet

Before this app, my 8-year-old thought math was a mythical creature—rumored to exist but never actually seen. Now, she’s voluntarily doing multiplication drills while eating cereal. I even caught her explaining fractions to the dog (the dog was not impressed, but I was).

The animations are cute, the lessons are sneaky-smart, and the rewards are apparently more motivating than my promises of extra dessert.

Highly recommend. The only downside? My kid now corrects my math in public.

That is an Epic Review! Seriously though, I did make it for my son to help him practice math and thought others may enjoy.
