About

Rackometry is an offline-first rack planning, field-audit and equipment documentation tool for data-centre engineers, infrastructure teams and IT professionals. Create and manage equipment racks from your iPhone, record installed assets, plan rack power and check available space while working on-site. Your inventory stays on your device, so manual rack work remains available when network access is limited or unavailable. PLAN AND DOCUMENT RACKS • Visual front and rear rack elevations • Rack-unit placement, overlap and free-space checks • Manufacturer, model, hostname, serial number and asset-tag records • Dimensions, weight and power information • Blade and modular chassis with child blade records • A-feed and B-feed PDU planning • Outlet numbering, phases, cable labels and upstream supply references BUILD A RACK FROM PHOTOS OR CSV Use two overlapping rack photographs to create a provisional elevation. The full-screen camera includes automatic or manual capture, compatible lens choices and a translucent overlap guide for the upper photo. Review every detected device, move it to the correct U when needed, and complete its identity with a focused label scan or manual entry. You can also import a Rackometry CSV and work through the same visual checking process. Nothing is added to an existing rack automatically. AUDIT AND RECONCILE Start from a saved or imported rack, confirm each expected device and record serial, asset, position, PDU and cable discrepancies. Record missing or unexpected equipment, export an Excel-compatible reconciliation CSV, or create a separate corrected rack revision while preserving the original inventory. DEVICE CATALOGUE Search the shared Rackometry equipment catalogue by manufacturer and model, review matching variants and source information, then choose whether to apply a result. Missing public models can be submitted to the catalogue research queue. IMPORT, EXPORT AND OFFLINE WORK • Excel-compatible CSV import and export • Blank import template and in-app guidance • Locally saved equipment specifications • Manual data entry at all times ACCESS Rackometry includes manual rack, device, power and CSV tools. A 14-day free trial unlocks assisted photo rack building, assisted audits, online catalogue search and research requests. The trial does not renew or charge automatically. A separate one-off purchase permanently unlocks the same assisted features. There is no subscription, and saved racks are never deleted when access ends. Apple displays the price in your local storefront currency. PRIVACY Rack photographs and close-up label images are processed on the device and are not uploaded automatically. Catalogue searches send only the public equipment category, manufacturer and model—not rack inventory, asset tags, serial numbers, hostnames or photographs. Rackometry assists with planning and documentation. Always confirm equipment specifications, electrical loads, suitability and installation requirements against manufacturer documentation and site-engineering rules. Feedback is welcome. If you find a problem, need a device added or have an idea that would make Rackometry more useful in the field, please contact KMB IT Solutions Ltd through the support page.
