With the latest update, I get the startup commercials in French. I am in Alberta and am not fluent in French. Can this be resolved?
Bug Ridden, Fiddly and Poor Support
This used to be my goto radio player, especially in the car with CarPlay.
But over the last couple of years this has become a poor quality app, with a lack of attentiveness from their developers to fix some fairly obvious bugs.
Removal of the BBC stations was the first nail in the app’s demise, which I understand was down to their partners at the BBC wanting to keep everything in Sounds, but immediately took away serveral
Of the stations I want to listen to in the car.
Using app’s sleep timer is fiddly and requires way too many key presses.
About a year ago the app showed my stored favourites on Car Play with the wrong station icons. I reported this via their website and they ignored it and have not fixed it despite many “bug fixes”.
Now the app appears to use a lot more data than it used to, who knows why.
Thankfully the stations I listen to the most now have their own Car Play compatible apps, so Radio Player is getting less and less use right now.

Where are all the stations?
I used Radio Player all the time a few years ago and there were lots of local stations. Now there are hardly any. I’m switching to listening to individual stations.
Needs better programming
It’s probably okay if you’re just sitting still and listening but I work in a warehouse that has several wifi points and every time the wifi does a handoff the app goes, “hey a new listener, let’s play a commercial, then the local radio station I’m listening to goes “hey a new listener, let’s play a commercial”. I then turn around and go back the way I came, ‘wifi handoff’, new commercial, then another local commercial. Oops forgot something, run up to office, “handoff”, commercial, run back down, “handoff”, commercial, go to far end, “handoff”… You get the idea. There have been times where I’ve heard only one song, and parts of others for an hour if I’m running around.
How hard is it to program the app to recognize my device to the fact it was just connected seconds ago?

Massively data hungry
Used this app for over 10 years, then suddenly it’s started using huge amounts of data to stream (600MB+ an hour) making it completely unusable for my needs.

It was a nice Canadian app but now it has an add every time you open it, I don’t mind ads on the radio

Can you stop up-downgrading this app ffs, you make it worse with every iteration. Now it takes an age to load, what’s it doing, it’s a radio app, just make it work properly and leave it alone!!! 🤦♂️
Too many ads
App forces me to listen to a long (30 sec) add at start up and then another add before my selected station starts to play. Enough already - I am switching to Tune In radio player. Way less adds!
Ads terrible
Was great. Now 30-second ad that won’t even play in the background if you change apps. And repeats during the same listening session. Very annoying. 1-star review until fixed

Grâce à Radioplayer je peux écouter mes radios partout et surtout ce que j’adore c’est la possibilité d’écouter des styles de musique particuliers du type funk, slows… J’adoore 🙏😍
Favourite stations all gone
I’m not sure how this latest update is a positive step forward. I predominantly listen to three radio stations in the Toronto area. As of this update all three stations that I listen to are no longer available!

Hatte früher mal Probleme mit der App. Ist inzwischen wieder meine bevorzugte App im Urlaub. Für mich perfekt.

Useless with Apple Watch
What’s the point of having this on Apple Watch when you have to carry your iPhone too? What a useless waste of time.
Adverts and more adverts
Awful, nothing but added adverts every time you turn app on. If you pause play, the advert pauses, if you stop restart then the advert restarts. Much better apps out there, avoid this one!
Broken
Always worked great, this update today, March 20, 2026 broke the app. It says the app is locked for my safety while connected to Apple CarPlay. Even while I’m sat stationary in a parking lot.
