About
RadRecon is a free, non-profit record-keeping tool for people who work with ionising radiation. It replaces paper notes and manually assembled survey reports with one organised logbook on your phone.
SURVEY LOGGING
Record gamma dose-rate measurements in the field together with location, measured value, distance from the source, instrument, photo and time. View points and routes on a map, measure distances between survey points and mark the position of the maximum reading.
SOURCES
Enter each radioactive source once, with its identifier, nuclide, original activity, production date and end of service life. Assign sources to measurement points with the distance valid at that point. RadRecon calculates the current activity and the expected dose rate, and compares the sum of all assigned sources with the value you measured.
PERSONS AND DOSES
Keep records of the persons involved in radiation work: their doses, the date of their next radiation-safety exam and the date of their next medical examination. See the annual accumulated dose in the person list, including passive dosimetry results entered after evaluation.
REMINDERS
Optional notifications before source and person expiry dates. Reminders are off by default and you choose how far in advance they arrive.
YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
All data is stored locally. There is no account, no server, no cloud sync, no analytics and no advertising. You can save your database to a file, load it on a new phone and switch between multiple companies or projects.
LANGUAGES
Hungarian and English.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
RadRecon is a non-profit community initiative that aims to make the administration of radiation work accurate, fast and efficient. Testers, developers and contributors are welcome, and contributors can be acknowledged in the app and on the project website.
IMPORTANT
RadRecon is a record-keeping aid. It is not a medical device, does not give medical advice or diagnoses, and does not replace official dosimetry, occupational health services or the legal obligations for dose limit compliance. Calculated values are estimates and must be verified against your calibrated instruments and applicable regulations.
