Essential sleep aid
I can’t sleep without this.. currently “The Passenger” is my favorite.. reminds me of my time traveling overnight on trains… I often play these in the NatureSpace app so I wake up to birds… “Flight” is pretty effective without being jarring.. the feature to fade in / out the sounds with a custom timing helps here.
Nothing compares… If you want a free way to check the app / quality of sounds I recommend downloading the free NatureSpace app and the previews..

Best app ever for train fans
They say dont use the first one for sleep bc of the loud train horns but i love it so much i play it over some speakers so my room shakes and i fall straight asleep

I love this app! Perfect for falling asleep. I use the “Force Times Mass” track for that purpose (even though it’s not recommended), because personally, I *need* the sound of train horns to feel fully immersed in the experience. I’ve logged over 70,000 long distance miles on passenger rail, and the sound of the horn, railroad crossing signals, etc overnight has never kept me from falling asleep—on the contrary, they are the difference between feeling like you’re actually on a train versus just another white noise app. So...if you do add more sounds (and I really hope you will), how about adding some more tracks filled with different train horns for those of us who love them? Please?

Good for background ambiance
Great little collection of train sounds / settings / situations. Very realistic and provide a nice ambiance. I use as a background when reading or chilling out. I also like that you can play these sounds at the same time as others from the Naturespace and Iceland sounds apps.
Missing track
I bought this because the Serpentine sample said it was included with the Railfan collection. It is not. Huge disappointment!

Love the sounds
I bought this to block out background noise at work. I love the 3D effects and the sounds of trains are soothing and not glaringly repetitive (in a short playback loop). The only suggestion I would make is that it does not run in the background. I would love to hear it in the background while playing an audiobook for example.

Love this app. A very usable thing indeed. Wonderfuly accessible with VoiceOver. Love when devs make their apps like that even if they never thought of it in the first place. You guys deserve a 10-star rating. Keep up the fabulicious work!!!!!!!!
Perfect for airlines
I enjoy all the NatureSpace apps, but have found that Rail Fan is perfect on noise canceling headphones for airline travel. The rail sounds tend to mimic the motion of the plane and a relaxation level that I haven't felt with other background noise apps. It's an interesting, but perfect combination in my mind.

Can’t live without this app!
I looked FOREVER for a sleep app that had more than just a train on the tracks... I need the horns, strangely enough for sleeping!
Even though I’m somewhat close to a train 🚂, I can’t hear it loud enough in the city except on Sundays to be loud enough to be beneficial... This app EXCEEDS my expectations!!!

An increasing delight
I use this app when I’m on task, when I’m brainstorming, and when I’m relaxing. The recordings take me away when I need to explore thoughts, and give me comfortable grounding when I need come back and work without distraction. I’ve also used their app of natural sounds -Naturespace. It’s very good but for me there is nothing like quality, immersive train sounds. I only wish there were more and more and more tracks.

Fantastic! And here is the answer to the question all Naturespace fans are asking... Q: If I buy this app, will the sounds unlock in my Naturespace App as well? A: If you have the app installed and then redownload NS and all your sounds, the Rail Fan sounds will be added. It works just like Thundergod. I’m glad of that because I like having my collection in one place.

I like both the new apps but they don’t seem to work on the IPod 6. I hope that can be corrected because I love nature space, it is still my way to go to sleep.
Perfect Ambience
Nothing better than the sound of a train while reading a mystery novel late at night. These selections are excellent. As usual, this developer has produced the highest quality recordings.
