Overly good, but can be improved

It’s super easy to use and convenient at decision making. The only con is the range gets reset after closing the app. So if it can be kept, it’ll be perfect!

Roll an any-sided dice!

Perfect for what I wanted - generate a random number in any specified range. It does exactly what I wanted, and nothing I didn’t want. Free, and works on iPhone and Mac. Thanks and props to the developers for putting it out there.

Repeat

It doesn’t repeat the same numbers one after another but it does repeat the same group of numbers a lot

Response from developer

The app generates truly random or consecutively unique numbers (opt-in). What you want is not considered a random number, but rather exhaustive randomization or shuffled sequence selection. This feature is not supported by the app.

Not random

I tried Randa, to generate a cubic die, by setting the minimum at 1 and the max at 6. I noticed that the second number generated was never the same as the first. Maybe that’s because the button is labeled ā€œ CHANGE.ā€ But that’s not random: when throwing a pair of dice, doubles occur with probability 1/6. To be sure, I changed the max to 2 and generated a boring sequence: 1,2,1,2,1,2,…. which is clearly not random, like a coin toss!

The developer has fixed this bug, so I have revised my rating to 5.

Response from developer

This is fixed in the latest update (1.2.1). I had accidentally enabled the numbers to be consecutively unique (meaning, it would ensure each number is different from the previous). This behavior is now opt-in.
