I have an older version of IOS on my iPad. I am now receiving constant messages to update to the latest version of this app. Could this be stopped as it is very annoying. Otherwise this app is quite good.

Every time I view an organ in detail the. Try to go back to the organ overview the whole app closes (crashes?). The frog dissection is much smoother but I needed a mammal for my class...
TERRIBLE!!
I have a practical coming up in A+P so I decided to try this. It doesn't show any muscles and all it shows is the organs. Waste of $4.00, google search the images, it's easier.

I think this app is very educational but it would be much more entertaining if it would allow you to make mistakes or cut open the brain or cut open the guts to see what is inside. I also think it would be useful to see what the blood does when the rat is cut.

Good but not as good as frog dissection. If you added more features like interactive activities and and information on the specimen would be 5*

Generally it's fine but I find it confusing when it describes the organs -- it doesnt point or show you the part of theorgan its describing or talking about

This is a very good app and is very helpful. But it's kinda limited and you only get what you see on the pics above. But I love it and i would never do real dissections on rats so this is good for biology. Also it's a fair about of money for the app so overal it's great. Very graphic too!!!!
Wonderful learning opportunity!
As with their frog app, the rat dissection provides a non-messy way to study the dissection process as well as the anatomy. As a teacher, I have found many students interested in the app, some asking to return to it time and again. Jr. High students to four-year-olds have experienced this app on my iPad, and were excited to learn more.

Scientifically accurate, but overpriced!
This app is a good replacement for those not wanting to undergo an actual rat dissection. The simulation takes the user, as you would expect, through the steps of a rat abdominal dissection. The simulation does not allow for removal of organs, nor the typical unravelling of the small intestine that normally would occur in a student lab. situation.
The graphics are reasonable, and the interface is easy to use. The information is, for the most part, useful and accurate. (Although I winced at the pronunciation of intestine as "intes-stein".)
However, as it is priced at over $4, one would expect to get more for their money. Simply too expensive.

Great basic organ dissection walkthrough
I think this dissection is very clearly targeted at a middle school or easy high school level. It handles those tasks well. The only problems I had with the dissection was the ease of dragging the scalpel through the muscle. It was difficult for it to track my movement with the scalpel for some reason. The other problem is that the pins could be a bit larger to touch and drag (shrink them after they are placed on the rat maybe).
This could be improved by having more depth for each organ with the parts of those organs labelled clearly. Also, the reproductive structures could have more depth. This could be more useful for laboratory personnel training for medical research as well if it had more depth (lymph nodes, lymph system, reproductive detail, and major veins and arteries throughout the body).

Not the best.
This is very informative, but it's honestly a rip-off. You can only do the dissection the way it plans, and after that ll you can do is look at the organs and read about them. I wish I hadn't spent the money.

I'm interested in how science is presented on the iPad. I thought this app provided a good approximation of a real dissection. Kudos to developer(s).
