There are better alternatives out there. The main issues for me are jobs expire too quickly and once expired it seems you have to start again from scratch.
The other issue is you can only have 3 interested tradesmen. After 3 the job closes. What seems to happen is ‘tradesmen’ select they want to make contact, but never do, and out of the 3 one will quote and you won’t hear from the other 2, meaning you can’t compare the quote.
I can’t prove it but is very suspicious, personally I think there are tradesmen with multiple accounts deliberately blocking up your 3 tradesman limit!!

Iain came to service our new home’s boiler so that we knew it was ok. He was SO helpful and fitted in with us not getting our keys and gave it a clear bill of health. Skirting Board fitter
The job was completed By Mr Rodney Smith based in Co Down NI. I was impressed by Rodney’s open approach and pricing the job. Rodney was very easy to work with and very accommodating. The job is fine finished to a high standard even down to cleaning up the areas he’d worked in.
Definitely would recommend him to anybody needing joinery work completed. 10/10. Job well done

London Waste Group did a fantastic job
We had bags of garden soil and some old railway sleepers to remove. Filiz and Sham did a great job. From the first phone contact to Sham arriving and once he had loaded the van, he swept the drive. They were professional, courteous and efficient. Would highly recommend. The app was easy to use and put me in touch with three companies, from which I selected London Waste Group. Will be using again and recommending to friends.

Kirk Eldridge responded quickly to our request to remove flaking and cracked external rendering/ dashing , for patching and making good.
He understood the problem and as well as giving a clear quote he was able to refer us to someone for whom he had done a similar job so that we could ask his opinion before we decided to go ahead.
He worked efficiently and kept us well informed throughout the procedure . We are so relieved to have weathertight walls again before the rains and the frosts set in. He has also given a five year guarantee.

Tiling my bathroom.
I chose Milton Miranda to do the tiling job in my bathroom because I found him to be genuine and honest about all that he needed to do . He was very punctual, polite and friendly. He accompanied me to the shop to get all the materials for the job and his labour charge was reasonable. The bathroom was kept clean and tidy after completion of the job. Un-vetted tradespeople, unable to find customer service
We posted a job, but got no replies and the job closed. We posted again and got one reply several days later. The tradesperson refused to communicate through the app and I felt very uncomfortable. I deleted the app and then another tradesperson called me directly.
I felt very uneasy by then and wanted to close my account, but was unable to find any information about how to delete my account after logging back in.
I decided to contact customer services to ask them to close my account, but was unable to find any contact details on the app.
Would not recommend using.

Maurice & his team were brilliant. My husband found him on Rated People. Maurice responded immediately & came & inspected the leak in our loft. We are so glad he did as the job turned out to be a big one. Some of the timbers were completely rotten through, the felt was brittle & crumbled to bits & the slate tiles were thin & worn.
We now have a beautiful new slate roof in fitting with our 18th century cottage.
Maurice kept us up to date while he & his team were working on the roof. They finished the roof to a very high standard & tidied up beautifully when they had finished. Very professional & would highly recommend.

Cheaters
I have experienced the worst days of my life. I had knights build roof to repair our roof and walls pointing job, but we found that they did a terrible job, even worse than before. After they repaired, my house leaked more seriously than before , Even water leakage caused whole house has no electricity for 2days. They bought poor materials and did poor work. They try to avoid my phone calls and messages and found excuses not to repair them. The registered address of his company was fake. They do not have the contract and certificate for the project. I leave this review so people are made aware to avoid. They are cheaters.

Unsafe unsupportive and unsure if there people are vetted or qualified
Did not show on multiple days. The roofer quoted one thing and done a different half job. Poor materials awful attitude when challenged.
Did the job so bad it was unreal -hung a down pipe in front of an opening window. No brackets holding up the gully.
Rated people have no way of supporting you as a customer - basically only called him to tell me. Nothing they could do to support me getting my money back. I am still waiting. I would think twice before using the site in anyway again.

Great app
I’ve used this app twice to hire workman for repairs in my home and really enjoy the app. It takes the hassle out of finding quality people and is so easy to use. I’ve had workman contact me on both occasions within the hour and hired them and works completed very quickly. This app is my first point of call when needing to hire workman for jobs in my house.

Kirill woodwork job
First time I’ve used this app, and had 2 people respond to my advert . Words cannot say how pleased I was with the person I chose , Kirill could not have been any more helpful . It was a bespoke small carpentry job , very fiddly , but he came looked at the job arrived always on time , extremely pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble and the end job is perfect . Kirill is a lovely friendly man who is very conscientious, polite and professional. !!!

Used the app quite a few times now over a number of years for various jobs, never been let down. Had contact within the hour on every job and most small jobs have been sorted the same day. Every trade person we have used has been very genuine and has provided excellent work. Would highly recommend 👍

Use a reputable company
I used this app as an electrician let me down and I needed work doing before other tradesmen arrived. An electrician arrived had a look around and said he could do the work (fitting lights, moving sockets and putting extra sockets in) the price was fair and he seemed to do an ok job apart from leaving a few unwanted holes in my ceilings that he didn’t rectify. Anyway a few months later after having to do extra works myself and having to lift up floorboards and move things around I noticed some of his work... wow not good! It was like Pandora’s box loads of little surprises for me to find! After digging further it turns out he’s not even a registered electrician! (I know I should have checked, maybe I think people are as honest as me) I’ve since had to have some real electricians in to rectify his work at a further cost. I would not recommend using this app as it attracts cowboys and conmen.

Unsafe and not vetted tradesmen- no after hell from
I had a tradesman visit my flat for a plumbing job. It said he was vetted by rated people and business/building checked. He took my money and didn’t do the job and then deleted his account/ hasn’t answered my calls. Rated people said they don’t keep the company registration number so just told me the name of the owner of the business. Looks like it a a fake name, and a business address in a mobile home park in Watford. No way in getting anything back so more concerned that I let this person into my house when he could have been anyone and yet he was ‘vetted’. No help from rated people at all, they’ve just said they take no responsibility. After sales service has been very unhelpful in tracking this person down. Never going to use them again, very unsafe.

Fraudulent Trade people; terrible app customer service
I had someone contact me from seeing my details on the app. They turned up and arranged to do the job. I stripped my tiles off for them to be able to re-tile; on the day they were meant to come they called saying their son was ill, next day their van was not working and then they ghosted me. I contacted the app customer service to say about the terrible service, but they could cross reference the number of the person with a tradesperson or see how they got my contact details. I did use them for an electrician, who was good and I left a review - but then the guy contacted me to change the wording of the review to even more in his favour. Don’t use the app - go into a local store that the relevant tradesmen you want use and get recommendations. The people on here and the team behind it haven’t a clue and really don’t care if things go wrong

Arrived without a toolbox. Did not take their shoes off and walked on my carpet. Had one small ladder and I had to go to neighbours to borrow. I made a typed easy to read list and showed them where everything was I made them coffee and I was courteous. They could not fix light in study but that was fine. They left 3 small jobs unfinished without telling me. They did bring down a heavy chandelier and I held the ladder with my son. They also bought down a bed from upstairs. They were ill prepared, not experienced enough to call themselves handymen. I have much better people to call and less money. I paid £150 and Darren did not offer me a receipt. I will never use your company again. I was pleased about them bringing the bed down and bringing down the chandelier. Apart from that the other work was second rate. Darren was slightly better than The other man
I am in the process of moving house and I am extremely busy so I needed some handymen. My handyman can’t come to me until next week. He is always busy because he is very good and well prepared. To arrive at a job knowing that there will be a variety of things to do without a proper toolbox. Is beyond me. Don’t you train these people. Appalling.

It could be a really good app but can facilitate fraud
I had a tradesman come and do a driveway for me everything was fine until one month they also did not complete a wall they said were going to do. Later I saw that there were major issues with the drive and called them to come back they kept making excuses about coming back and have now said they have left the country. Even though rated people do checks I feel like it can facilitate fraud. There needs to be a harsher vetting process and a way to get more trades people to quote on each job. I posted two jobs to try and see if I could get quotes from different tradesmen but I only got one quote from each job. I think people should be vigilant and take copies of people’s IDs as me having to take this person through the legal route is hard as they are difficult to trace.
