Rattleboard

Rattleboard is a split-flap message board for your home. Every flap clatters through its drum, one character at a time, in a black or white finish, with an optional mechanical clack. Give an old iPhone, iPad or TV a second life as a board on the kitchen bench, in the hallway or on your desk, then send it messages from your phone. SEND TO ANY BOARD • Type a message and see it laid out exactly as the board will show it: upper case, word-wrapped and centred. • Add colour chips, or paint a grid tile by tile. • Pick a transition: classic, column, row, diagonal, edges to centre or random. • Send to one board, a group such as "Downstairs", or all of them at once, with a result for each board. • Drafts, templates and your recent messages are kept on the device, so you can resend or edit any of them. TIMED SEQUENCES • Build a sequence of up to 100 frames, each with its own hold time and transition: a morning routine, a countdown or tonight's menu. • Loop it, preview it on your phone, and play it on a board. PAIR IN SECONDS • On a Rattleboard TV or desktop, choose Pair a phone and scan the code. The board's key is saved in the iOS Keychain. WIDGETS AND FULL SCREEN • Small, medium and large home-screen widgets show what a board is displaying. • Full screen turns the iPhone or iPad itself into a board, with the screen kept awake. SHORTCUTS • "Send to Rattleboard" and "Play sequence" actions for Siri and the Shortcuts app, so an automation can post to your board. TRY IT WITHOUT HARDWARE • Demo mode shows a rotating set of sample messages, so you can explore everything before you set up a board. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Messages go straight from your device to your boards on your home network. One price, paid once. No subscriptions and no in-app purchases. Also works with Vestaboard boards (Local and Cloud API). Vestaboard is a trademark of Vestaboard, Inc.
