What's New in Reactor

2.0.0

October 23, 2026

Reactor is back, rebuilt from the ground up for today's iPhones and iPads. • The same game: Classic shifts, missions, the Utility Lab and Meltdown mode. • Credits are earned by playing, one for every 80 KW, and pay for everything. Nothing is sold. • Share a score or a mission from the end screen. • Plays offline, with no ads and no accounts. Progress from the 2013 version doesn't carry over: everyone starts a fresh reactor.

User reviews

Won't work

I hate these Game Center games. They do not work unless you sign in and they won't let me sign in. They either say the nickname is already in use or it freezes. So it doesn't matter how great this game is, it is useless.

Deleted this piece of junk

Good idea, poor execution

Confusing and ugly UI. I can't make sense of any of the numbers, powerups, jargon, etc. Hard to recover when you miss just 1. Tip to developer: simplify. Think Apple design

Nice

Quite the mental challenge. Fun gameplay and easy to pick up.

Fun Brain Trainer That Actually Works

For those not familiar with N-Back, it is the only brain training game type thus far to show any signs of actually improving fluid intelligence. And this is actually a fun game too!

If you're curious about why N-Back training is so promising. Check out some articles or books on working memory (beware this is not the exact same thing as short term memory, many articles or even textbooks fail to make this distinction). Only working memory training has so far show transference to other mind-intensive skills, unlike most other brain training games and systems out there (even professional looking systems like Luminosity).

This is also the first game I've seen that also makes N-Back training actually FUN! It's got unlockables, and is very well done. Sure it's not going to be the most enthralling game you ever play. But I'd say it's not too far off from games like threes or candy crush.

One last note is the in-app purchases are not bad at all. I'm opposed to in-app purchase games in general, but you don't need them in this game; if you're failing, you should be starting over for best training anyways. The only reason I see to get them is to support the developer for making such a fun and useful app.

Fun nback

Usually nback is annoying. This is fun. I'd buy but in app purchases don't make sense to me in this game.
