The app advertised a free trial. I subscribed to try it and cancelled almost immediately after realizing it wasn’t suitable for me. Despite cancelling within a very short time, I was still charged $81.
I contacted Apple to request a refund, but unfortunately Apple told me they could not refund the charge. I feel this is extremely misleading and unfair, especially when the subscription was cancelled almost immediately.
Please be very careful before starting the free trial and check the subscription terms carefully.

voice was horribly ai, didn’t have at least child voices for narwhal and jelly, and didn’t pause right.

I like the voices better then speechify, however speechify does allow you to clone your own voice to read to you which i like however you have to pay for it , if this app could allow cloning of voice and making it free this read4me would surpass speechify

It would be a 5 but it reads the page number and I don’t like that. But like this other app it does not say dot for a “. So that’s why it is a 4 star rating. If you don’t like reading get this app.

It’s not overly complicated Simple, but effective thank you to the creators of this app. I love it.
CRASHES CONSTANTLY
Say the offer a free version but anytime that you deny upgrading to their premium version (which is $50 a month by the way) the app mysteriously crashes. Total scam trying to get you to sign up for three day free trial hoping you forget about it and they can charge you $50 a month for the most basic bs!

Predatory pricing: has a free 3 day trial then will charge $50 / month for an app to read out loud, a scamming amount of money. Also, no luck getting it to read my pdf without subscribing.

I cannot stress enough just how bad this app is. First of all, it tries to deceive you into subscribing to a $50 per month service, just for a read aloud app. Secondly, if you don’t comply with doing so, it seemingly intentionally punishes you for it. The AI reader will not start from the beginning of the PDF, and will also abruptly cut off before the end. It also seems to skip over words quite frequently, leaving you trying to understand a sentence that made no grammatical sense when read aloud by the app. This app is really, really bad. And highly immoral in its coercive and deceptive tactics to get you to subscribe to a $50/per month service (FOR A READ OUT LOUD APP, OF ALL THINGS). Don’t give this company a dime or moment of attention. They are far from deserving of it.
