ipad pro swaps volume buttons to whichever orientation ipad is in, so needs ability when using volume keys (to swap volume up/down to go prev/next page)
and desperately need scroll to go next/prev chapter in scrolled mode when reading. using tapping is unintuitive and often results in misclicks.
definitions above words is amazing. it does mess up the ruler line width though and is a bit buggy when moving it up and down in scrolled mode esp towards end of the page. maybe zen mode in vim would be great feature here? i know there’s focus mode but forcing centered text with ruler line?

Update Woes (Fixed)
EDIT (Jul 24 2026): Looks like an update fixed the issue I was having with multiple app instances launching. Excellent work to the dev(s) making this app!
After the latest update, opening anything now launches two separate instances of the app (it happens when opening an ebook via finder or even just launching the app directly). It used to be my go-to for just quickly opening an ebook without messing with libraries but this just makes it a pain to use.

Up front, this app seems to have everything. I can tell a lot of work went into this. However, what they don’t tell you is in order to use it truly, you have to sign up. Nor does it tell you about any of the cloud services that they want you to use. Yeah you can add books to try it out, but then a pop-up pops up and asks you to sign in.
In fact, the only place you’ll know that there is cloud services, is if you check the in-app purchases here, or on the android version. They do not say this in on their website.
Not only that, they tout themselves as an open source software. No offense, but they are giving open source a bad name by not being clear here what that actually means for them. It’s not that they aren’t open source, they are, (from what I can tell, I’m not a programmer) it’s that they aren’t being open with their communication.
This is very misleading. I would not use this app or support this developer in any way shape or form.

In the recent update they made WebDAV sync a premium feature…on an Open Source app???
Just wow… I’ve been using this for quite a while now—happily using WebDAV—and now I have to pay?
I understand the project needs to be supported, but making a self-host feature “premium” is utterly unacceptable…

Dommage de ne pas proposer une offre sans hébergement avec juste l'achat de l'application, même si la première offre reste peu chère.
Dans la version gratuite, vous avez enlevé la possibilité d’utiliser notre hébergement personnel en Webdav, et on doit payer maintenant pour cette option. Donc on doit payer tous les mois pour utiliser notre propre espace de stockage … Merci, bel esprit.
Avec cette application, je pense avoir trouvé la perle rare. Super pour gérer une bibliothèque de documents, de livres, de PDF, etc.
Mais elle ne fait pas que ça ! 👍🏻

Certainly it’s not true. The premium feature for WebDAV and Google Drive is also available for the one-time lifetime purchase.

Great app, however it would be cool if it cached my configurations locally and stopped showing me the login page every time I open the application, while also resetting my options.

Love this reader app, I use the text to speech function while driving and it’s pretty good if you can find a voice you like. It’s also nice that your library will sync across devices so it will save your reading progress and bookmarks. Really great app!
