We’ve been sharpening up—some fuzzy parts of the app are coming into focus.

Glitchy

Tried to register twice. First time it wouldn’t send me the texted codes until a long while later. 2nd time I got to the end of the process and it said something went wrong and I couldn’t go back or forward so it was all lost. Cool premise but this is definitely a beta version I guess. Maybe I will try later when I can actually complete my registration all in one go.

Using Lacanian psychoanalysis to set up profiles is an interesting choice

but it would be more interesting if it was used to recommend profiles that’s at least 50% compatible with yours

cool but needs work

This app would be great with a few tweaks. I think it would benefit from having likes sent between people before matching, since it’s marketed for wordsmiths and readers. As is, in its infancy, the app is pretty dead. But there are many people on there that i wouldn’t mind sending a message to about things on their profile. Instead it feels like I’m just sending likes out into the void in the hopes someone else also sends one. Which is fine for some other apps but for an app based on linguistics you would think part of the process of finding connections would include a way to use your words to persuade and attract people beyond just the profiles. Also I think they should get rid of some of the cringe/goofy worded interests you can add to your profile. People are sincere in seeking connections with similar interests but it reads a cringe if it is worded “hot commie” or “cool capitalist” or whatever they had on there. Keep it sincere!

Crashed before starting

I couldn’t even get my profile activated. When I finished the quiz, it told me to go back, before quiz, and photos, and fix a character limit. I did, but when I tried to go forward, the app is stuck trying to remember and get past all the pages with my quiz responses. It flickers endlessly, trying to load pages that never load, and when I hit back and try again it once more flickers endlessly. So I can’t even use it. I didn’t expect to find users in Raleigh, but now I’ll never know.

Good try

I appreciate that they tried to do something different. I can see a million ways in which such a concept could be actualized much worse, and this is not a bad start for what it’s worth. There’s already bots on it, it seems, which is unfortunate. And while there are genuine matches, the app suffers from the same issue as others of its kind namely there is no incentive for matches to respond or reach out. Might as well shoot your shot on Instagram DMs, you’ll have the same luck
