My proficiency is already increasing

I’m so lucky to be able to found this app. I really needed help with my reading and this is exactly what I was looking for.

Amazingly Useful

This app is so helpful and so much more accurate than Duolingo. I love that. I can identify words that I don’t know without needing to identify the entire sentence. I like that there is good audio as well.

Great app, some issues

I’ve been using this app off and on for a few months now, and overall, I think it’s great for reviewing/practicing vocab. The sentences feel natural to me, and I love the analyzer.

With that said, this app has some issues.

1) The analyzer stopped working for me. Every time I’ve tried to use it in the last day or so, it’s failed, meaning I can no longer mark what words I don’t know. This defeats the whole purpose of the app.

2) The sentences also frequently contain vocab that is way beyond the selected level. For example, in level 2 texts, I will often get more than one word that is HSK 3.0 level 5-7. This again defeats the purpose of the app, because now I have 3-5 unknown words per 1-2 sentences, and those words are often way higher level than I want/need.

3) You can’t keep your progress if you down level. When I did this, my learning was basically reset.

Great app!

I’m really liking this app! I haven’t studied Chinese in a long time but saw this mentioned in a Reddit post and thought I’d give it a try. I like that it’s simple but does what it does very well. I think the little passages are a great way to learn words in context.
