99% fake profiles

Huge Yung Pueblo fan & was so excited when this app came out. Awesome concept! Sadly 99% of the matches have been fake profiles. Many are even the same fake profile with the name changed. Better screening process needed! Bummer to see YP putting out additional apps while this one is left to languish & subscribers’ $ being collected.

High hopes, low reality

I was so excited when this app launched. At this point I feel I’ve used every dating app out there, with the same type of guy who either avoided commitment, only wanted something superficial, or were not prepared for a woman with opinions. There’d be weeks I’d go without any “sparks.” The reflections are great but at a certain point become repetitive. The worst thing, I have encountered more scammers on this app than any other. It’s demoralizing taking a chance and being vulnerable only to find them run when you prove further.

Not good

Very limited options but worse than that, the people I connected with were scammers- not cool for a girl girl
Learning to trust again. Very disappointed.

Pass

I was really excited about this app. I’ve been on it from the very beginning. Sadly, it gives you a handful of options daily. My possible matches are people who live on the other side of the country and are not within my dating preferences at all. I had hoped that they would’ve fixed all of this by now. I’ve gotten to the point where I check in every two weeks and my options are only thousands of miles. It’s been a terrible experience.

Great concept, poor functionality

I love this concept and signed up months ago, despite knowing there would be very #’s in my state. I like that it’s centered around emotional maturity and self awareness, but the app itself has poor functionality/execution.
I’ve only ever gotten maybe 3 sparks, and I was excited the other day when I got an email saying I had a spark. Opened the app and there was nothing. So now I’m thinking that I’m actually missing out on potential connections.
Other complaint is that it completely ignores your preferences. Distance being a major one. It keeps giving me people from literally across the country, even when I have distance set to 75 or 100 miles (and no, the “distance doesn’t matter” box is not checked).

Sparks Aren’t Flying

Almost 6 months on this app and there’s still barely anyone on it.
For the majority of the 6 months, the app didn’t even work. Now it seems to be working but it is not work the monthly payment when there is not enough people on the app.
They need to offer this app for free in order to get enough people on it. Or something. They need to do something.

Ready, get set, no

My negative review has been deleted multiple times. I’ve been on this app since it debuted to the general public, and I’ve cancelled my renewal because it’s a complete waste of time. I’ve sent many sparks and received about five. I’ve had three chats. I’m a cis-het female, late 40s, in Detroit. Two of the men ended the chat abruptly after the standard initial messages (both “not feeling it”), and the third was a scam. Not behavior I was expecting in a “different” dating app. I don’t know the outcome of the investigation of the scam; Ready did not update me. I had to set my distance to “doesn’t matter” to see any profiles at all, and then the nearest were about 250 miles away. The algorithm seems to send you profiles from afar when you set that for distance, like that’s your preference. Each day the profiles presented are clustered in the same area. California, Seattle, parts of Florida and Colorado, NYC. Unpaid members can’t see sparks, so you don’t know if the person you’re sparking will even see it, which is crazy because that’s the only way to connect. The set of profiles you see is static each day, and you don’t get updates like if a user sparked you back until maybe the next day, maybe next week..it doesn’t say, you have to wait for that person to get your profile and spark in their daily set. It seems broken. The daily reflections and challenges are cool. They reset the ratings on this app, but they didn’t reset the app to be better. It’s not dynamic at all. Great concept, poor execution.

Overall good idea, improving

This app is a good idea, considering all bad the existing dating apps are and how mentally draining. It’s nice that there’s a focus on slowing down and being thoughtful. It was a little slow at first but there have been some nice improvements lately like the community feature. It seems like there aren’t tons of people on it yet but I see a few new faces. I guess that’s good so we aren’t just always assuming there’s someone better! I like this app and hope it continues to bring more thoughtful people on to it

Great for daily reflection, but probably won’t lead to dates

This app has a lot of useful information within the daily reflections. I have been on the app for over three months, and I’ve had two chats. I have sent out many sparks, but non-paying users cannot see sparks, so your efforts may be futile. The potential connections seems fixed each day, so if a user sparks you back or in their own, it seems you won’t see it for a while. I can’t imagine many users will find the patience to wait until the following day at the soonest to find out if there is a mutual spark. The app shows you the same handful of people repeatedly. None have been within 200 miles of me, and most have been over 500 miles away. One of my matches abruptly disconnected because he didn’t “feel the right energy he had expected at that point” after about a dozen chat messages. The other was a catfish; a person claiming to be a man with a specific story, but the image search of the profile pics came back to a man of a different sexual orientation who had 90k followers in instagram.

They’ve made improvements, but this app still lacks

The app is considerably better than it initially was, but there are still problems. There either aren’t enough people on it, or the algorithm is unable to suggest people who live within 500 miles of each other. People who aren’t members cannot see if you sent them a spark, so your efforts to connect may be futile. I send a lot of sparks and have had two matches. One man was a scammer, and the other quickly disengaged, so I’m not sure this experience is different than other dating apps for straight women seeking men. I do enjoy the daily reflections. I’m gong to give this app a few more months’ trial before writing it off as just the same as the others..

This app isn’t READY.

Yall. Don’t waste your time. There is ZERO CONNECTION with this « dating » app. ZERO spark flying. No relationships to be had. The content Yung puts out in here is nothing like the rest of his work - in fact could be someone else writing altogether. It’s so basic and no new content has come out for weeks. And I got an email from an event last week. None of it feels mindful at all.

Good concept but the functions are no bueno

Really frustrating to pay for the upgrades right out of the gate but seeing the same faces daily and when it says someone sparked me it doesn’t show me and the people who actually expressed interest never show up in my feed. When I click the message that says people sparked my profile I just get an error message now after the upgrade they’re gone….theres potential here but the current format is very annoying

Sparks Aren’t Flying

App is STILL, after months, not working.
I will change from one star once they fix the bugs and the Sparks *actually* fly!

I’ve been on this app for months now and have not received any sparks. I have sent many. No connections have been made. There are quality people on this app, so would really love for them to get the Sparks to fly. Once they get the app to actually work, and when more people find their way onto the app, I look forward to connecting. I am confused as to how the bugs haven’t been fixed yet, with it being months now.

Lots of bugs to work out

This app charges you right away and has a very limited selection but what’s frustrating is it has so many glitches it’ll say I have people that have liked me but doesn’t show them in my suggestions then shows an error message when I click the notification banner

app could be good, but nobody’s on it

It seems pointless to complete these daily affirmation things when the reward is being able to see a maximum of 10 people. Cool that sparks refresh each day, but with so few users on the platform, even finding 1 that you actually want to send a spark to can take several days. They need a serious marketing boost in order to make this a viable platform.

Update: lowering to 1 star. After several days of nobody (or max of 2 folks) showing up in my well populated area (seattle, boston, & sd), I’ve been locked out of the app & otp code won’t even work. For something so dismal in the first place, it’s not worth the headache on top of it. Uninstalled. Back to bumble & hinge it is…

No one near me

Closest match was 2.5 hours away but it sent me people from hundreds of miles away. Would be really interested if there was anyone on it

Great in concept

I love the people that are putting this together and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness that has gone into it. I have been looking forward to trying this app for a while, but at the end of the day …no one‘s on it. So …I’m not gonna pay for it. I’ll stick it out for the free month trial and if anything happens, I’ll consider paying, but I’m not gonna pay to look at available people nowhere near me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good intentions, but same old….

I like the concept of Ready, but unfortunately after several months of trying it out, it’s pretty much the same experience as all the other apps. I think we seriously need to get back to meeting people the old fashioned ways, prior to the internet.

No depth-mostly lame.

Same people repeatedly with few new faces, and no way to know if these people are actually interested in my age and geographic cohort. The "depth" repeatedly shouted about is nowhere to be found. A few photos, some meaningless aphorisms, height, age, and sometimes location and star sign, along with vices and habits (not the Doobie Brothers album) don't really divulge much of anyone's depth of character. It isn't slow and considered; it's just lame. So far. Perhaps they'll turn it around.

Why is there a fake review?

I joined Ready because it was conceived of and designed by Yung Pueblo/ his team. So I felt like it was going to have integrity and attract a certain person. I was also lucky to be one of the first people to test the app, the test version of which only launched in April. One of the reviewers (Brittany) claims she met the love of her life and has been dating them a year. The announcement about the idea for the app barely came out a year ago. This makes me wonder if they’re paying people for fake reviews. Not very on brand for Yung Pueblo. Im super disappointed.

Aside from that, the app is still pretty buggy and building up its participation so you don’t get many options for connections, and they often repeat.
