About
Real Food Transition helps you transition from ultra-processed eating to a whole-food diet — gradually, sustainably, and without guilt.
Most diet apps tell you to eat less. Real Food Transition teaches you to eat better. Based on the NOVA food classification system — the most widely used framework in nutrition science — it helps you understand exactly what you're eating and build healthier habits over time.
HOW IT WORKS
Log your meals across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. As you type, Real Food automatically identifies whether each food is real, minimally processed, or ultra-processed. It even recognises hundreds of brand names — from McDonald's to Fage — so logging takes seconds.
YOUR 5-PHASE PLAN
Real Food guides you through five progressive phases:
Phase 1 — Notice what you eat. No changes needed yet. Just build awareness.
Phase 2 — Make one daily swap. Replace one ultra-processed item each day.
Phase 3 — Anchor breakfast. Start every day with real food.
Phase 4 — Two cooked meals. Build the habit of cooking from scratch.
Phase 5 — Real food lifestyle. 80%+ of your diet is real or minimally processed.
Choose your pace — Easy, Medium, or Difficult — and progress on your own terms. No pressure, no perfection required.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Your daily food quality score shows the percentage of your diet that is real or minimally processed. A 7-day chart shows your trend over the week, and streaks help you stay motivated.
THE NOVA SYSTEM
NOVA Group 1 — Real food: meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts, butter, plain dairy.
NOVA Group 2 — Minimally processed: oats, rice, pasta, canned veg, plain yogurt, frozen veg.
NOVA Group 4 — Ultra-processed: packaged snacks, fast food, ready meals, flavoured yogurt, cereal.
