Excellent app for learning Kana
You will need to learn the Kana sooner than later, and this app really helps you with this. I use it for Katakana review, since like many I concentrated on hiragana and didn’t spend as much time on Katakana. Having Kana words to review is really helpful, it helps cement the characters by seeing them in the context of a full word. Well done!

Best free app for learning Hiragana and Katakana
Comfortable and easy to use. No annoying ads or paywalls. Just easy repetition of hiragana, katakana, and kanji. There’s the option to practice with any combination of letters and words you desire as well as different fonts. I’ve had the app for about five days and I’ve already memorized all of the hiragana and half of the katakana.

Great app
I’ve used quite a few apps for learning hiragana, katakana, and kanji and this is the best. Clean and simple. Love it.
Essential to my learning
I like this app very much because unlike other Kanji flashcard apps, this one gives you the option to type in the answer, which further reinforces what you learned. My only complaint is that there seems to be no spaced repetition option unlike “Real Kanji” (the app that preceded this one).
Simple, free, and it works
Real Kana makes drilling Japanese characters really easy. You just pick the Hiragana, Katakana, or Kanji you want to work on and quiz yourself. The multiple fonts really help to recognize characters in the wild, and little touches like audio and scoring keep it fun. Simple, free, and it actually works. Highly recommend.
