Cant save as gif

The app is amazing and worked really well. But I took 2 photos daily for 5 months of a bush and I think that was too many. The app crashes when i hit the share or the view as gif. It also takes ages to hit the view ReCapture button or the view all button. please help.

Response from developer

Hi Tomatoes and Salt, thank you for the thoughtful feedback! We’re so glad you’re enjoying the ReCapture App and sorry for the trouble you're having with viewing and sharing your long-term project. Since ReCapture is a research prototype, it wasn’t optimized for handling large amounts of data yet, so this could be impacting the app’s performance. A simple workaround is to export the images manually to your Mac. Here’s how: 1. Connect your iPhone to a Mac and open Finder (or iTunes if you’re using an older macOS version). 2. Select your iPhone and navigate to the Files tab. 3. In the ReCapture App folder, you’ll find “target-detail” and “target-history” folders. 4. Drag and drop “target-history” to your Mac to save all your images. 5. To help free up app storage, delete the “target-history” folder in the app by moving it to Trash. As long as you keep “target-detail” intact, you can continue capturing new data on the same reference image, though past data won’t display on your iPhone. We’re also working on tutorials and scripts to help you process your exported data—stay tuned!
