What's New in Recipe Catcher

1.2

July 13, 2026

What's New in 1.2 Recipe Catcher can now read a lot more recipe pages, including plainer, hand-written blog posts that don't use a recipe plugin. When a link still can't be read (mostly pages that require logging in, like a Facebook post), tapping "Add Empty Recipe to Edit Manually" now drops you straight into the editor instead of leaving you to go find the blank recipe yourself. Add a recipe with no URL at all — tap the + button, then "Enter Recipe Manually" for a family recipe, a magazine clipping, or anything without a web page. Pasting a whole ingredient list or set of directions into the editor now splits it into one row per line automatically, instead of cramming everything into a single field. Swipe left on any row to remove it. The welcome screen now shows each time you open the app as a quick reminder of how to add recipes, with a one-tap "don't show this again" option if you'd rather not see it (also toggleable from Settings anytime). Fixed a bug where renaming a recipe while editing could leave a stray blank duplicate behind in your library. A few small touches: Settings now uses a book icon, the editor's "Steps" section is now labeled "Directions," and the Help & Guide has been refreshed to match.
