Great… Until it Wasnt

I purchased this app about three months ago, and initially, I absolutely loved it! It was everything I had hoped for in a recipe organizer. I imported hundreds of recipes from various websites, added many of my own family favorites, and finally had everything beautifully organized in one convenient place. The feature that kept my iPhone screen on while cooking was especially helpful. For a while, I was in recipe heaven!

Unfortunately, that honeymoon came to an abrupt end about a month ago.

For reasons I cannot explain, the app began displaying a huge white box that obscures nearly 80% of the recipe on my screen. Imagine being halfway through preparing dinner, only to have your ingredients and cooking instructions suddenly disappear behind a giant white rectangle! Frustrating doesn’t begin to describe it.

Even worse, closing and restarting the app doesn’t solve the problem. The only solution I’ve found is to completely reboot my iPhone. Not exactly convenient when you’re standing in the kitchen with flour on your hands and dinner on the stove!

I contacted the developer hoping for a solution, but so far, I’ve received no response, and the problem remains unresolved.

What makes this especially disappointing is that this really was an outstanding app when it worked. I invested considerable time building my recipe collection and genuinely believed I had finally found the perfect recipe organizer.

Unfortunately, once you’ve paid for the app, getting your money back doesn’t appear to be an option. You can cancel future charges, but that doesn’t fix the software you’ve already purchased.

My recommendation? Proceed with caution. This app has tremendous potential, but until the developer addresses this frustrating issue and improves customer support, I simply cannot recommend it.

What started as a five-star experience has turned into a recipe for disappointment!

Won’t load recipes

I have tried repeatedly to use this and purchased it as I transitioned from another app. At first , the recipes loaded tho it took a while . Now in the past week , I have tried to load numerous reipces and I get error message after error message . Buyers remorse. This is an Easter of money ! Don’t buy !

Hi, sorry about the recipe loading issues after you paid. Around that time we had a bug loading blogs/recipes that is fixed now. Please try opening your recipes again in the latest app version. If anything still fails, email support@recipeone.app with which recipes are broken and we’ll dig in.

If You Cook You Need This

What a godsend! This app delivers exactly what it promises and hits all the right notes.
I now have more than 200 of my recipes stored in Recipe One and can access any of them with just a few taps. Before, I spent far too much time digging through stacks of recipes and notebooks trying to find that special dish I made months ago. Now I simply type the recipe name into the search field and—BOOM!—it's right there.
One of my favorite features is the ability to download recipes directly from the internet and save them instantly to my collection. It's fast, easy, and incredibly convenient.
If you love to cook, you need this app. Highly recommended!

Great no frills /no subscription recipe organiser

I’ve been using this app for nearly a year. It was a cheap one off payment rather than a monthly/yearly subscription that you’re tied into like most recipe organiser. But it works pretty good and seems to be improving over time with further updates. There can be glitches sometimes the recipe doesn’t load to app first time and occasionally get an error message on uploading and have to redo it. Every app gets glitches time to time it’s no different. You have to create your own category cookbooks and save/sort the recipes into those yourself - would be good if it could auto this. If you open a recipe link in FB or Insta it doesn’t upload to the app until you open the recipe in your web browser. An absolute bonus is that it will save paywalled Bon Appetit, NYT, and probably some other subscription cookery/ recipe platforms completely without needing to pay subscriptions - this alone is worth the small cost of this app many times over!!

Easy Weekly Planning

Love this app! I can download recipes from any social media, I can change the amount of people eating and it changes the required ingredients! I can also create a shopping list with the meals I chose.
