Awful!
Pathetic. App unstable. Have to keep updating my location every time I use it. I open a message and can’t reply. App freezes. I have to go to my desktop and sign in to use the site. Truly awful experience and not worth the one star. It’s a good contraceptive though.
Bugs!
Fix the bugs don’t create more … so just now when the app shows a message exists and I click on the message notice, nothing shows up. I’ve rebooted and signed out and it’s definitely a problem. I’ve sent messages to your team and zero response so decided a review might get your interest .

No keyword search
I’ve been a Recon premium member for many years. Cannot actually believe what the owners of this site did. but the biggest thing missing is the keyword search from profiles. If Recon is trying to encourage the start of a new site for gay male kink they are well in their way to helping the competition.

Impossible to use

Bad update
The last update, besides the various points made by others, has wiped some of my conversations with specific individuals. And today it disappeared some - but not all - messages in a conversation. This level of bug means that it is getting nearer to being unusable. I have just cancelled my newly renewed subscription. Should the problems continue I will have no choice but to walk away completely.

Absolutely rubbish in every conceivable way
Not sure how the powers that be could screw the app and platform experience up so drastically, but congratulations if that was the intent behind the upgrades. Sure the old site was outdated, but now any functionality is completely gone. All distances are metric for us USA members… why? We use freedom units in this country, searching for partners is almost nonexistent, aside from picking random locations to search. Why only show me the closest members to me? Why can’t I just see members who are online like before? Why can’t I see x rated photos even in the web version of the app? What’s the point in that? I had a friend in the site that was removed because his profile was too detailed about what he was looking for, like really? So yeah they apparently are starting to censor what we say now. Complete waste of time of a company.

Lousy new Recon
Horrible new Recon app. Does not work well on an Apple IPad. The former app was much better. I will not be renewing my subscription after many years on Recon. The nearby feature Does Not Work. Plus doesn’t indicate who is online. Doesnt seem that the list of guys online is updated . Keeps showing the same people and yet Scruff and Grinder are constantly updated. Big disappointment here.

This is no doubt the worst app I’ve ever used. The old one was ok and useable but the new version is truly shocking. Some of the features just don’t work and you can’t even upload photos to your albums anymore.

IOS app is completely worthless
Don’t bother even downloading the iOS app. It is truly worthless. Just go to the website through Your internet browser. At least that works reasonably well. Literally the only thing that works about the iOS app is that it notifies You when You get a message. I love Recon. I wish this app worked. Hopefully it will get fixed.

From mediocre to abysmal
The old app was clearly dated but the UX on the new version isn’t designed for mobile. Way too little information on the page; too much empty space; fonts too small; too much scrolling; too many taps to get somewhere… Why bother having an app if you’re just replicating the web interface?
It's functional and improved!
Ok it's not perfect, but the app is far less clunky than it used to be and it deserves a better rating than it has now.
Terrible new app
I think I have lost all interest in the app. Finding somebody sharing the same interest is now difficult and the design of the new app is such a drawback !
Ruined
A decent app has been ruined by a re design. It doesn’t work. Crashes. And a waste of time.
Fire who did the redesign
This sucks. I would buy a subscription once or twice a year while I was traveling and now that I’m about to again I signed on and none of this is user friendly. Paywall for regular public pics. Stats box is gone. None of it is intuitive and the search function (whole point) is shot to hell. It used to be a great app. I may even uninstall because it just doesn’t work in the first place.

Terrible Upgrade
Since the upgrade you can no longer search for people by keywords etc. an error message constantly pops up at bottom of screen. When I contacted you with this and requested a refund for membership you simply referred me to Apple and never acknowledged or apologised for the issues. Take ownership for the problem, you have ruined what used to be a great app. No one I have spoken to likes the new site.

Search by keyword & info in feed
The new version took away the search by keyword functionality. Bring it back.
I do not like my followers seeing changes I make to my profile. Having every bio edit or minor photo change broadcast to people in an activity feed feels unnecessary and exposed, especially compared to how quietly Recon used to handle account updates. It’s too Facebookish. Recon should add a global toggle to opt out of broadcast feed updates altogether (so followers aren't notified when one edits their bio/photos).

Unusable
This app is unusable because if the new update, super laggy, it signs you out for no reason and the message take a loong time to appear so you can’t really have a fluent conversation, at least add the option to reply to an specific message, that would be great
