I have been a loyal Record Searchlight subscriber since 1993. It’s taken awhile to get used to the online platform, but so glad to still have access to local news coverage each day.

Love the convenience but really wish I could play the puzzles online!
Local News and events
My husband and I read the online edition every day. We would appreciate more local news and notifications of local events before they occur.

I really like it. Check it out several times a day. Just takes a few minutes each time. Like the listing it by departments. And that it is updated during the day. Good job.

Changing video programing
The video layout is a mess. You cant tell what days news story you are reading without a search! Finding the days stories collected is a challenge Some of the ads are questionable. I dislike it & always try to get the traditional layout. Accidentally touch the wrong place & it disappears & you have to reload.

Works most of the time but at least, once a month I have to sign in again. Which means looking up my password, etc.
5:30 every morning
I really enjoy the mix of world, state, local and interest stories, not to mention Dr Roach’s daily tidbit next to a quick weather summary. Goes great with my morning coffee!

Little things make a big difference. Example is the Sunday crossword puzzle. I can now print it regular size and I don’t have to use my magnifying glass to read the clues!! Happy puzzler
Where is “Print” button?
Tried to print some puzzles but no print button when using my ipad (ios 17.2). My Windows 11 computer showed a print button that worked.

I enjoy reading the E-Paper daily
It’s a good bargain, staying informed of the city of my youth, and my Alma Mater, Shasta High & local area sports. I also subscribe to the London Times.

I grew up in Northern California. Siskiyou and Shasta counties. Moved away years ago but an article with Shasta Lake or a photo of Mt. Shasta will always get my attention. This app/newspaper helps me feel like less of a stranger.
I downgraded the app for 2 reasons. 1) targeting cookies cannot be turned off. 2) I cannot cancel the subscription from the app.

Terrible source for facts
This news outlet is overly bias and promotes mis-information that promotes the divide between philosophical beliefs in a community that is built on diversity. Very poor over sight and coverage of important events.
