Footsteps, breath, heartbeat. Walking is the most primal music the body plays. Since ancient times, people have layered prayer upon this sound. Pilgrims sought the sacred through walking; mountain ascetics walked to become one with nature. Walking has always been prayer, and the sound born from it became a cord binding body and world.
re:cord reconstructs GPS walking data into music in real-time. Walking speed, elevation, heading. These data points determine pitch, tempo, and spatial positioning. Walk slowly, and a gentle melody emerges; stride powerfully, and a dynamic rhythm is born. The walking path becomes grooves, and a record appears. This sound, expanding from center to edge, becomes a cord binding body and world.
