Records Management is a mandatory annual training application for Department of the Navy personnel. It provides guidelines and best practices for managing federal records in accordance with regulations.
The app covers general recordkeeping methods, the records lifecycle, dispositions, essential records, electronic records, senior leaders’ records, and related information, focusing on user duties and responsibilities.
End-of-course completions can be emailed to Navy Training Management and Planning System (NTMPS) for display in the Electronic Training Jacket (ETJ). Users should retain completion emails until verified in ETJ or Fleet Training Management Planning System (FLTMPS).
If completion is not posted within 72 hours, forward a copy of the email to your supervisor or FLTMPS Coordinator/Training POC. The FLTMPS Coordinator can manually record completion if needed.
Users are responsible for knowing agency policies, reviewing office file plans, following retention guidance, informing the Records Manager of discrepancies, and understanding potential liability for improper record management.
Records Management is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices.
