About
Red Twine is a Camino de Santiago app for pilgrims: a guide to plan your Camino and a companion to walk it. Sixteen routes on surveyed tracks, in six languages, on your phone and in your browser. No advertising, ever.
Your first Route Fit is free, and the routes and their stages stay free. The walk itself and the record of it are the Camino Pass.
FREE — SIXTEEN ROUTES, REAL TRACKS
Camino Francés, from Le Puy-en-Velay, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port or Sarria; Portugués from Lisbon and Porto; Norte; Primitivo; Inglés; Vía de la Plata; Levante; Sanabrés; Invierno; Finisterre and Muxía; Aragonés; Salvador; Madrid; Mozárabe; Vasco del Interior; and the Monks' Way on Formentera.
FREE — YOUR FIRST ROUTE FIT
Ten questions — days, month, age, fitness, experience, knees, heat, budget, company — and Red Twine tells you which Camino fits, from where, and cuts the stages to your pace. The first is free; the Pass covers the rest.
FREE — EVERY STAGE, ON THE MAP
Each stage with its distance and climb, and every kind of place along it under its own symbol: albergue, hotel, church, bridge, fountain, café. Tap one in the list and it blinks on the map. Three days of weather along the way.
CAMINO PASS — ON THE CAMINO
The map with you on it and the way ahead, north-up or heading-up, and a steady compass with the bearing of the way. Stage maps downloaded for offline use. While you walk, the map fills the screen.
CAMINO PASS — WHERE TO SLEEP
Every bed beside the way with a number to call: albergues, hostels and hotels near you, ahead of you, or in any town you choose, each with its distance off the route and a phone or website where the map records one. Bed numbers come from the map and can be out of date, and no prices are claimed — call and ask.
CAMINO PASS — CREDENCIAL AND COMPOSTELA
A pilgrim passport laid out like the paper credencial: stamp it by QR code, photograph or hand, see the Compostela rules applied to your stamps day by day, and print it as a PDF, marked as an unofficial copy.
CAMINO PASS — YOUR RECORD, AND SAFETY
Press Start and the phone measures what you actually walk, day by day: each day's kilometres, your total, how far is left. SOS 112 behind a confirmation, the nearest hospital and pharmacy, and a share-my-position message home.
ALSO ON THE WEB
Sign in at redtwine.syntherma.com with the same email code: your Caminos, your stamps, your plan and your credencial to print, editable in the browser.
WHAT IT COSTS
The Camino Pass is monthly or yearly. Both renew until you cancel, any time in the store, and the Pass is the same on every route. Local pricing is shown before you buy. Location is used while the app is open, and in the background only between Start and Stop; it leaves your phone only in the message you choose to send home, or in the route backup you turn on in Settings.
Buen Camino!
