Disappointed

Really wanted to like this app but can not recommend. Found the user interface difficult to navigate, not intuitive at all. Entering ICP data is easy, but entering previous tank parameters is cumbersome. No good method to do bulk inputs. Also asked AI multiple reef questions and answers were no better and sometimes worse than google AI answers. Tried uploading pic for ID and keep getting server errors

Recommend improvements

So overall it’s better than most aquarium apps. The thing I didn’t like is that if you have a peninsula tank, that it will not do the grid for flow and lighting. I guess it needs the back wall to anchor from. Even if you give it the top down it will still not do it.

Getting Better

Reefability is putting out constant updates and the platform is improving almost weekly. They take feedback very seriously and have implemented two of my suggestions on the same day I made the suggestion. Currently my favorite reef tracking platform.

Substantial improvements

Making some major improvements. Continues to be responsive to bug reports

Incredible App

This app has all the answers. Very helpful to me since I’ve been in the hobby for a bit over a year.

Constant Errors - UPDATE

An update seems to have fixed most of my issues. I received a helpful reply from Reefability customer support in less than a day of my initial communication. They seem to want to make things better.

Broken

App prompts that I must update to use it but is up to date per the App Store. Tried uninstall/reinstall but issue persists

Waste of money for iPhone users.

Honestly. This app is becoming more of a headache.

Don’t waste your money

What a waste of money. Reviews in you tube sing this apps praises but pointless. The addition of equipment does not contain anywhere near a full list, inc Red Sea gear. You can find what the AI does by quick searches and there are plenty of free nutrient recording apps. Please don’t make the same mistake I did and pay for this!

Not user friendly

Too much going on. Hard to track parameters. Ai is terribly slow and honestly… not very helpful. Definitely need to work out some kinks

Not Ready

Despite several ICP test results uploaded and weeks worth of testing data, all my pumps, lighting data, the AI still can’t give me insights on my tank.

Remind me again why I’m paying for this?

Paying a premium for a buggy app. To log in I need to log in close the app and reopen. To input any parameter nothing happens doesn’t save to register. Useless

Best reef keeping app ever

I’m genuinely amazed by Reefability, especially the Reefer AI. Being able to review my ICP test history and get clear, actionable insights has completely changed how I manage my tank. I can even ask specific questions based on long-term trends, which makes the recommendations feel personalized and trustworthy.

Since using the chemistry forecast, I’ve been able to prevent several issues before they impacted my corals and it shows. My corals are healthier, more stable, and looking better than ever.

This app has become an essential part of my reef keeping routine. Thank you for building such a powerful and thoughtful tool for the reefing community.

Fighting

If you like fighting an app and it telling you you are wrong all the time and it not letting you change things you know are wrong. And you have all the time in the world . This is the app for you.

Needs lots of work

Not Worth the Subscription
The AI assistant takes forever to respond, and the lighting section is very limited — mainly geared toward LEDs. There’s no proper support for T5 users, no bulb selection, and no option to set the number of bulbs. The identity is subpar tried using it for algae issue and got several different answers on what it was from 3 different photos of the same algae, Uploading a screenshot of parameters doesn’t actually update them. The home page feels cluttered and busy, and navigation is sluggish overall. It also doesn’t work with Apple’s Magic Keyboard — touch only — which makes it even more frustrating to use. I’ll be sticking with ChatGPT instead. Glad I only paid for a one-month subscription.

Verdict it still out

Interesting for sure but it really has a long ways to go. Painful at best…bioload add a zebra moray. Largest size is 9-10 inches. Umm my eel is more like 36 inches. I paid for it but I am not sure I am in love with it yet. The fish input leaves a lot to be desired. Coral identification, etc.. I am going to say aquarimate is still king. So far I am underwhelmed. Maybe they need a vision/news page…or and a suggestions. They need to get this UI cleaned up. Don’t know but it could be amazing. Just not yet.

Great Approach

Great Approach. App is clearly still an early production release with many warts, but the general concept is wonderful and much better than other apps. The developers are very responsive to addressing issues as uncovered. The AI driven advice is pretty consistent with what you’d find researching, that AI elements work quite well.

Useless

Couldn’t even get the app to run. Clicked on any setting and blank screen. Would need to close and open the app again.
