About

ReelKeeper is a fishing log with an honest species identifier and a "can I legally keep this?" check. IDENTIFY WHAT YOU CAUGHT, HONESTLY Photograph the fish and ReelKeeper classifies it on your device. It will tell you it recognised a group rather than a species when that is all a photograph supports, because a picture cannot separate a brown trout from a brook trout. When it does not recognise the fish it says so and hands you a searchable list of the whole catalogue instead of guessing. Identification is free and unmetered. LEGAL TO KEEP? Pick your jurisdiction and ReelKeeper checks the size and bag rules for that species, shows which agency the rule came from and when it was last verified, and lets you report a rule that looks wrong. Informational only: always confirm with the local authority before keeping a fish. YOUR LOG AND TROPHY ROOM Record every catch with species, length and notes, watch your season build up, and keep your personal bests in the trophy room. ALWAYS FREE - The full catch log, with no cap on entries - The trophy room - The field guide across the whole species catalogue - Species identification, unmetered WHAT REELKEEPER PRO ADDS - The legal-to-keep verdict with agency provenance - Guided measurement - Rule packs for more jurisdictions Works offline. Your photographs and catches stay on your device, and ReelKeeper does not read your location — you choose the jurisdiction yourself from a list. ReelKeeper Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offered monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings. ReelKeeper's "legal to keep" information is informational only, may be out of date, and varies by exact location. Not legal advice. Do not rely on species ID alone. What's New in ReelKeeper

1.1.0

August 10, 2026

The species identifier now actually looks at your photograph. - It previously returned the same three bass for any image. It now classifies on-device, names a group when that is all a photo supports, and says "not recognised" instead of guessing — with a free, searchable species picker when that happens. - Identification is no longer metered. The old daily limit only existed while the answer was fake, so it is gone. - The paywall listed the catch log and trophy room under "Pro adds". Both have always been free, and the paywall now says so. - Removed a permission request for location, which the app never used. - Support contact and legal links updated.
