Still love this!

We want more from Mr. Jason Snell. Give the people what they want! Lol

Something Strange and wonderful

I don’t like this app on first trial but I will persist with it...and this statement is an irrelevance because of the ground breaking compositional research and development the developer is doing....

The developer ... Jason J Snell.... is connecting mind to midi. It’s rudimentary so far but definitely a reality ...check him out on you tube...

Some years or decades from now there is the potential we can think our way to wonderful composition....just imagine that.

Lovely app but crashes a lot on 14.2

Great app with real potential but crashes every time I use it on an iPad Pro running iOS 14.2

Great idea but limited to a handful of preloaded sounds.

The app generates some great drones but it desperately needs a greater choice of sounds and the ability to import your own sounds. Presently all compositions sound pretty much the same.
Having the ability to switch off a track instantly instead of waiting for it to fade out would be a benefit.

Very Fun App

This app is very nice when it comes to great sounds and ease of play. Having so much fun that I emailed the creator to ensure it makes the audio unit jump when iOS deprecates inter app audio. I found it easy to play right after purchase and I still use it often with other apps as it plays so nicely with others. Adds plenty of texture to sound scapes and generative music types of fun. Works easily via midi and it allows for each voice to be triggered by its own midi channel or even combined to get deep harmonies. Thanks also to Jason for responding so promptly with the aforementioned concerns with inter app audio. This is a winner for sure.

Very Interesting Indeed!

The applications behind this odd little gem are many. My one request, please make an AUv3 midi plugin out of this... Please!

Much better with updates

I am enjoying this app now since it has been updated.

Great idea - but good luck

Ive spent a week playing with this app. Adding it to my audiobus setup, using it solo, using it in any possible combination i can try on my ipad pro 12.9 gen 1.

I have followed what little amount of tutorial videos there are. And im unsuccessful.

This app is not straight forward even for an ios musician. There is no detailed setup info. I cant get sound to play except for the in app sounds. Even following destination settings in videos. It wont play squat.

3 stars because i think its supposed to do something. -2 stars because who the eff knows!?
Not going into my process until someone posts something

One of my favorite controller app

8 midi tracks at the same times, hook it up with Korg iM1 or Layr and you are good to go!

The update is awesome!!!

01/02/2018 Update. I’m more excited about this update than just about any other iOS music app. Everything works like a charm. This is hands down the best generative app, especially for ambient music fans. Thanks dev!

Simply Wonderful

Unique app that is visually beautiful and performs beautifully.
I recommend reading the user's manual in order to get the most out of this gem.
MIDI is great; you can use it with any number of external synths. The app's own internal synths also sound great.
Recommended!

Oh My Goshβ£οΈπŸ˜―πŸ‘

I've had Refraktions for a week (or two) but to be honest, after a few swipes of the screen and my socks didn't catch on fire (hubris, shear hubris on my part) I forgot about it..until I was cleaning up and moving newer apps to folders and I looked at Refraktions a little closer. Ohhhhhh Myyy Goshhhh❣️❣️ I mean I'm not sure what I'm doing with it yet but I see the potential now. Right now, while I dictate this, I'm listening to LayR being controlled by Refraktions. I'm using a saved LayR Performance with five instruments (and collectively six synthesizers) with some mild tweaking and 'performing' via Refraktions. I saved the developer's online user guide to a thirty-three page PDF also shows that there is much more to Refraktions than initially meets the ear. πŸ˜ŽπŸ™

Amazingly Great and Innovative Music Generator!

My go to app in most of my music creations! Love the interface, love the midi capabilities!
Glad to know it is IOS 11 ready and I heard an update is on its way this fall. Amazing app Jason, easiest 5 stars I've given!!!

Definitely worth trying

It was took a bit of time and patience to figure out how to get it to control external synths but once this was achieved it was worth it. I got absorbed in how it weaves soundscapes and slowly morphs them allowing you to focus on shaping your chosen tones. Ifound that using Audiobus as a mixer for the synths outputs and recording the individual tracks through a multitrack DAW was useful in generating hours of enigmatic sequences that wouldn't sound out of place on an Aphex Twin ambient compilation. Definitely worth your investment :)

Absolutely AMAZING!!!

I stumbled upon this app and am so glad that I did! It's truly incredible, easy to use and works well with other apps. It was very easy to use other app sounds as the sound source and it is a BLAST! What I LOVE most is that it feels more like playing WITH someone. (And the sound quality is beautiful) Bravo to the developer! I give this app not just a thumbs up but full on jazz hands, beyond worth the small investment!

Amazing

This app is incredible at being able to create sonic landscapes. The internal sounds are great. The AI keeps it interesting and morphing and the midi is a treat with Gadget. Would have given this 5 stars if the developer included Audiobus and AUM support.

Bridgehead

Exquisite

Once I figure this thing out.

Meditative & visually beautiful

Foray into a zen calm space and time. Minimal yet rich with possibility, feels as though you have a secret door into another reality. Love!

Gorgeous

Beautiful, minimal and very smart.

Mind bending. Beautiful.

This app must really be experienced to be understood.

It's visually lovely and relaxing. There are no icons, no settings button, nothing that interrupts the landscape (no mistaking who designed this).

When you touch the screen it begins making music, influenced - not exactly determined - by your gestures.

As time passes you get the sense you're not just playing with an application, but collaborating with some off-world entity.

It starts out as not-quite-yet-a-song, but as time goes on things can take on rhythmic elements depending on what you do (or don't do, perhaps).

I can't wait to lose hours in this. No doubt the possibilities are endless.
