What's New in RefTake
1.2.1

What's New — RefTake 1.2.1 A new free tier: everything you do inside RefTake is free, on every shot. Pro streamlines your workflow. The Active Shot is gone No more picking one shot to export from and waiting 30 days to switch. Recording, reviewing, organizing, and MOV or JPEG-sequence export are now free and unlimited — every shot, every project, permanently. Any number of takes per export, at full quality, with no watermark, out through the share sheet or straight to Files. What Pro covers now Pro speeds up the steps that get frames into your 3D software: PNG image sequences, Remove Background for alpha PNGs, Save to Project Folder, and saved export presets. Pro controls stay visible in the export sheet with a PRO badge — tap one and it tells you exactly what it saves you, instead of hiding the feature. Prices are unchanged. If you were on the free plan in 1.1.1, this is a trade: those four features used to be reachable on your one Active Shot and now need Pro, and in exchange the Active Shot limit is gone — MOV and JPEG sequences are unlimited across every shot and every project instead of one shot at a time. If you already own Pro, nothing changes. Cleaner export filenames Every exported name now runs through one sanitizer: spaces and control characters are dropped, characters your filesystem rejects become underscores, and long names are trimmed to fit. The export sheet's filename preview shows exactly what will land on disk. Bluetooth audio Disconnecting a Bluetooth headset could wedge audio system-wide — playback ran fast and an octave high, in Photos as well as RefTake, until you rebooted. RefTake now notices the route change and repairs its audio session on the spot, pausing playback first so the repair actually takes, and waiting for the take to end if you're mid-recording. Headsets also connect for output only now, so pairing one no longer drops the whole audio system to 16 kHz or takes over as the microphone. Templates Importing a template from Photos did nothing — the system reclaimed the transferred file before the app could copy it. The import now stages a copy immediately, and if it fails you see an error instead of a sheet that silently closes. Template Quality now says what it governs: the resolution of templates the app creates. Imported templates are copied through at their original resolution and never re-encoded, since the import is often your only remaining copy. Fixes • The export sheet no longer spins or shifts when the keyboard opens over its action bar. • The export sheet dismisses cleanly after an export. • Restore Purchases now says "You're Offline" when it can't reach the App Store instead of failing generically. • The intro walkthrough no longer pitches plans, and Home no longer carries a plan row. • Errors raised while the plus menu is still open are no longer dropped; they show once the menu closes.
