About

Type braille Unicode characters in any app — Notes, Messages, Instagram, X, and more. Regitel is a custom iPhone keyboard that converts your taps into braille Unicode on the fly. No converter, no copy-paste. Just open Regitel and start typing braille directly into any text field, anywhere on your phone. ■ Japanese Braille (JIS X 4061) Covers the core JIS X 4061 standard: vowels, consonants, voiced (゛) and semi-voiced (゜) sounds, contracted syllables, long vowels, and punctuation — each converted to the correct braille Unicode cell. ■ English Braille Grade 1 (UEB) All 26 letters mapped to their Unified English Braille cells. Shift key cycles through off → one-shot → caps lock for uppercase input. ■ Works System-Wide Regitel is a system keyboard extension. Enable it once in Settings, and it's available in every app — no special mode, no extra steps. ■ Flick Input Uses the familiar Japanese flick gesture you already know. Tap for the main character, flick up/down/left/right for variants. Fast and comfortable. ■ One-Tap Field Conversion Tap the braille button (top-left) to convert the whole text field to braille Unicode instantly. Tap again to convert back to regular text. Useful for reviewing what you've typed. ■ Dakuten Cycle Tap the dakuten key to retroactively cycle the previous character: base → voiced (゛) → semi-voiced (゜) → small kana → base. No retyping needed. ■ Fully Offline Regitel works entirely on-device. No internet connection required. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted. --- WHO IS REGITEL FOR? - Braille learners who want to practice typing braille on their phone - Teachers preparing braille materials or study examples on iOS - Accessibility researchers and professionals - Anyone who wants to share braille text on social media or in messages - Japanese learners exploring Japanese braille (JIS X 4061) --- HOW TO ENABLE (takes about 30 seconds): 1.
