Good app but…

It’s a good app, gives clear instructions on what to do, but I’d love a set counter and a stopwatch that’s built into the app.

A notes section needed

Would be great if the user could have a section to record notes for weights used or any variations of exercises

Needs further development

I really like the idea behind the app, but feel it is half baked and I would wager that the developers have not been its end users.

Firstly, there is a time out on daily sessions - so if you want to actually do your exercises as prescribed and then note down your progress with the moves, the session often times out, requiring you to log several sessions in a day. If you have an injury, you will be taking your time with this and therefore the timing component is useless and makes things confusing when you are wanting to check which exercises you have left to do.

Secondly, you can’t even go back into previous sessions to see what you have previously written, and therefore what your response to an exercise was! What on Earth is the point of that then?

Thirdly, and this relates in part to the first two points, the progression graph is somewhat pointless - yes it correlates your comfort and pain levels, but considering each exercise can illicit a very different response, there is no objective way of combining those variables to show you real progress on the graph - it is abstract, at best, and changes with every exercise you rank.

Lastly, the exercises themselves. I really like the videos, but would appreciate a diagram which shows which muscles group you are meant to be activating. After an injury biodynamics can change in a way that means you may not even be activating the right group and potentially causing further injury. Especially with some of the more subtle single group isolating exercises where you can’t even see what the instructor is doing that well. One exercise particularly is so vague that I can’t tell if I’m meant to be engaging my hamstrings, glutes or lower back. The black message box that shows up once you save an exercise also stays on the screen too long and is too frequent, making you have to wait until it disappears so you can close down the given exercise.

Dragging Physio into the 21st Century

I was prescribed a Rehab Guru programme after an operation on my back. I was discharged from hospital with some overly photocopied low quality exercise sheets which didn’t inspire me at all!

With Rehab Guru I can see videos, track my progress and remain motivated. I’m very impressed with the App and team which have made it available to my physio, who prescribed my programme in about 5 minutes.
