About

Relic Masks is a field conservation workshop. You excavate a 6x6 grid, recover four mask fragments, then restore the piece at the bench before it enters the archive. FIELD EXCAVATION Each site is a 36-cell grid seeded to one ritual mask. Every uncover costs tool durability. Hidden cells can hold: • Mask fragments (four required to leave the pit) • Pigment caches • Field toolkits that restore durability • Ancient coin hoards • Study debris You start with the Field Trowel. Later kits are Survey Pick, Precision Blade, Resonance Trowel, and Master Excavator. Tools wear down, can be repaired with coins, and each pit allows one free field repair. Higher tiers last longer and require both restored masks and coins to unlock. RESTORATION BENCH A mask cannot sit in two places at once: finish the bench before returning to the field. 1. Assemble — seat four fragments; extra drops lower the later appraisal. 2. Clean — raise surface coverage; incomplete cleaning caps the score. 3. Repaint — spend two units of the required mineral pigment. Wrong pigment is recorded and penalized. 4. Mount — choose Antique Gold, Jade Pavilion, or Obsidian Vault. Frames that match rarity (Common/Rare, Epic, Legendary) add a presentation bonus. APPRAISAL The archive scores assembly, cleaning, painting, frame match, and site difficulty on a 100-point scale: • S — Museum Masterwork • A — Field Conservator • B — Archive Standard • C — Stabilized Relic Each completed mask keeps its grade, frame, and catalog date. SIX EXPEDITIONS, FORTY-EIGHT MASKS Complete three masks in a civilization to open the next site. • Celestial Empire, Bronze Sky Dynasty — Qilin Warden, Jade Dragon, Vermilion Phoenix • Valley of the Nile, Sun Temple Period — Anubis Sentinel, Horus Falcon, Sphinx Oracle • Maya Highlands, Jade Calendar Era — Feathered Serpent, Jaguar Lord, Death Owl • Aegean Temples, Heroic Bronze Age — Gorgon Veil, Griffin Herald, Cerberus Gate • Norse Realm, Rune Iron Age — Fenrir Wolf, Jormungandr Serpent, Nidhogg Drake • Oceanic Islands, Wayfinder Age — Mana Shark, Tiki Ancestor, Pele Fire Crown Pigments in the kit: Cinnabar, Lapis, Malachite, Ochre, Bone White, Gold Leaf, Obsidian, and Coral. The correct pigment is unique to each mask. ARCHIVE AND SETTINGS The Relic Archive groups masks by expedition, with epithet, lore, rarity, and conservation record. Workshop options include reduced motion, high-contrast labels, and discovery marks on exposed field items. Progress is stored on device. No account is required. Relic Masks is a conservation loop: excavate, restore, appraise, catalog. It is not a match, merge, or idle collector.

What's New in Relic Masks

1.0.1

September 4, 2026

Fixed an issue where restoration could become blocked when the required pigment was unavailable. Excavation sites now remain accessible during restoration, and every site provides the pigment needed to complete its relic. Existing affected expeditions will also receive a recoverable pigment cache.
