About
Remanence is an interactive artwork about what survives after a moment is gone.
Enter one of six abstract memory fields. Touch, drag, hold, swipe, pinch, tilt your device—or leave the screen alone. Each action changes the scene’s physical rules: a trace can become a measure, an empty place can become a frame, and contact can leave a brief echo.
Each route connects 3–5 moments in a 5–8 minute session. You can safely leave inside a moment, during a transition, or at the end; completed moments are saved. Return later and the same field may be shorter, displaced, worn, or incomplete.
There is no feed, score, leaderboard, account, or prescribed order. The archive changes quietly on this device.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND
• 50 authored memory moments across six connected fields.• Monochrome geometry, procedural sound, semantic haptics, and optional device tilt.• Clear consequences, residues, and return-state changes for every moment.• Dark, light, and system appearances, Reduce Motion, Dynamic Type, and VoiceOver.• Sound, haptics, and tilt are optional; every moment has an alternate path.
PRIVACY
Remanence is offline. It requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party SDKs. Visit state, route residues, and preferences stay on this device and can be reset in Settings.
Remanence does not explain your memories. It gives you a quiet place to notice how an action leaves a trace.
