Some of us still need this!
Despite OpenAI releasing a mobile Codex app, Remodex does something unique: It connects my phone to my Mac’s codex app without requiring that they be logged in with the same account. That means I can switch between subscription accounts on my Mac (multiple family members have ChatGPT but don’t use codex) and they all work with Remodex without making me switch accounts on my phone. (Unlike Remodex, the remote Codex app only works if the phone and Mac are both logged into the same account.) I know, niche benefit but it made Remodex worth using. The only problem I had was session or state sync issues. If I start a session on the Mac, it doesn’t always show up on Remodex. Otherwise it provided a unique benefit that I was happy to support.

I use it every day ! It works mush better than codex/chatGpt version. An iPad version would be fantastic.
This app is seriously excellent
Remodex has totally changed how I use Codex. It works as a smooth remote control for my Mac, so I can keep coding sessions going from anywhere. Pairing is super easy with a QR code, and the app feels polished and natural on my iPhone. Voice input, Git stuff, live monitoring, image generation, and all the new features in version 1.5 just work great.
I love the clean interface, pinned threads, per-file diffs, and how responsive everything is. No more being stuck at my desk.

Stuck a lot
The model respond too slow compared to the computer even in fast mode
Buggy
It disconnects constantly for me. Also, doesn’t show all running review of codex activity. Not clear if codex is busy, disconnected, finished. I just use Remote Desktop now

Genuinely impressed
I wanted to make this app myself, but this app is so feature complete and well made that I have no need to. This was obviously made by devs for devs. You could charge $20/month for this app and I’d pay it. Amazing work.

Secretly paid only
I get them want to make money on a gap in the market but really no mention is paid only, uninstalled and never installing it again

Works great for both research and coding tasks
Was able to do some deep research on my walk.
Way nicer than ChatGPT because we could build tools to parse inputs and create data fragments. Big unlock away from the desk. ChatGPT gets super laggy with long conversations and then there’s no easy way to ask follow up questions.
Also works for iOS/macOS code. Fun times!

Keeps crashing constantly
App doesn’t work properly, it crashes non stop. I wouldn’t recommend.
Buggy and not easy to use
I can’t get it to work consistently it’s just not a reliable solution. I tried for over awhile week.
Good stop gap
Happy to pay for some forward thinking. OAI will release this eventually but this is great to use now. However I don’t see 5.5, any plans to add it?
