Don't touch, paid app.
When I needed a TV, damn BestBuy didn't have Dumb TVs in the size I needed, only Smart TVs, so I got saddled with a TCL Roku (which I'd throw out if it wouldn't hurt me instead of them, the guilty. What they did with the RCA inputs is criminally inconsiderate and incompetent and unacceptable, requiring an adapter that doesn't exist, is a non-standard that doesn't exist, and they didn't include one. Boycott TCL). The idiotic remote is too packed with buttons, including on the SIDE, such that it's close to impossible to touch the remote without triggering buttons unintentionally. So it seemed like it'd be helpful to have a backup remote in an app.
This gets 1 star for one reason (well, two, second reason is that I can't give zero or negative stars): It wants a subscription. I open it, get a ridiculous unending string of introductory/advertising screens (WHY? I already installed!) shoved in my face "You can control your TV!", "Aren't we awesome!", Next, Next... Then I see switch that's off: "Remind me when my free trial expires". What? Trial? I don't do trials, what? Screen says I "can have" a free trial of 1 month or 3 months (I forget, I got out too fast) then it'd be $3.99 per month or something (again, so fast). WHAT? An open ended SUBSCRIPTION for a REMOTE???? Something I'd potentially want for YEARS, for the life of the TV? Newsflash: YOU CAN'T CHARGE A REPEATING CHARGE FOR A REMOTE!!!! Period! This is a minor convenience, it isn't even worth 10 cents per month!
I hate that this app is now attached to my account. I want to return it, 1 minute after installing. I want a refund, despite installing it being free. Get this filthy garbage away from me! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I tried about four or five other apps to replace my lost Roku remote and they all kept disconnecting or were just unusable due to ads. This one actually stayed connected the whole time. Had a slight hiccup at first where I had to make sure my phone and the TV were on the same network, but after that it was smooth sailing. Simple, clean, and does exactly what it says.

Seamless connection & great UI
This app is a lifesaver. My physical Roku remote stopped working, and this app connected to my TV instantly. The interface is super clean, and it’s honestly faster and more responsive than the actual remote. Highly recommend!
