Fantastic

Tyler, Dena, Amelia, Sami, literally every one here is fantastic, thank you guys for improving my life

Go UC!

Love the University City location! Thank you!

Great gym but the app isn’t

The classes in North Park, San Diego are honestly fantastic. The coaches are motivating, the energy is great, and the whole team creates an awesome community atmosphere. The actual fitness experience is easily 5 stars.

Unfortunately, the app itself is a completely different story.

The new Renegade app is really not user-friendly. Booking classes is way more complicated than it used to be with the previous app, and simple actions now take way too many steps. Adding classes to an iPhone iCal calendar is also unnecessarily confusing and should be much more seamless.

One of the biggest disappointments is the removal of progress tracking and achievements. Before, you could see how many classes you had completed since joining, unlock little milestones, and actually feel a sense of progression and motivation. Now all of that seems gone. There’s no real visibility into your achievements or training consistency anymore.

A few ideas that could really improve the app:

Bring back achievements, streaks, badges, and lifetime class tracking

Add one-tap Apple Calendar / iCal integration directly after booking

Introduce smart recommendations based on favorite instructors, attendance habits, or recovery time between workouts

Add a social/community feature where members can see friends attending upcoming classes

Create a personalized progress dashboard with stats, milestones, and attendance history

The classes and staff deserve a much better app experience.

Poor functionality

The gym is great, unfortunately the app and tech behind it are awful.

Best gym

Class have structure, and this makes it so one can accomplish a lot.

Renegade is great but this app is terrible

I love the workouts but utilizing this app has been terrible. I spent 2 days working with the support team just to get my payment details updated. Clearly there’s a known bug that you can’t update your payment details if you’re a previous ClassPass user. Overall the support team was helpful however the underlying technology of this application did not set the support team up for success. These obvious issues around payment processing need to be fixed!

Great app

Great app!!

Renegade

Great workouts for a really reasonable price. Awesome app and it’s totally worth it, to workout at RENEGADE!!

I love renegade!!!!

Absolutely love the classes at renegade. It’s a great mix of cardio & strength and have felt like I’ve become so strong since coming to this studio. The teachers are great and motivating. Highly recommend coming here!

Cannot add class to calendar

Love the app but always have an issue adding a booked class to my calendar. It says it doesn’t have permission, which isn’t true. No way to fix it.

Calendar Access is Broken in ios17

Renegade all is not listed in privacy settings for calendar access and there does not appear to be a way to reset it so am unable to add classes to Calendar any longer.

Version 1.1 breaks adding calendar entries workout expanded permissions

Prior to version 1.1, calendar entries could be added from the app with the iOS application-level setting configured at Add Only. However, since the update this does not work, with the Renegade app now reporting additional access required. Presumably this would mean giving full calendar access to the app, something which users shouldn't have to do (and indeed shouldn't do).

I assume this was simply an oversight in the testing, but one that has a significant impact in us keeping track of the classes we book, as these now have to be added to the calendar manually.

Unable to book ANY classes and no response from Renegade

Since the new app rolled out I cannot book any classes with my unlimited membership. I’m immediately directed to buy more passes to book the selected class. I’ve tried calling and emailing and cannot get a response from anyone at Renegade, even though they state they’ll respond within 24 hours. With no manned phones and no receptionist at the gym, how am I supposed to book a class at this point? So frustrating.
