About

Resonote is a sound analyser for musicians and acousticians. See the spectrum of anything the microphone hears, tune your instrument, measure sound levels and how long a room rings. Tap any peak to hear it. SPECTRUM AND SPECTROGRAM • Live spectrum from 20 Hz up, with the main peaks marked • Narrowband, or 1/1, 1/3, 1/6 and 1/12 octave bands (IEC 61260) • Tap a peak for its frequency, note, cents and harmonics • Hear any peak as a pure tone, made louder where the ear is less sensitive • Pinch to zoom: the zoomed chart resolves down to 0.7 Hz • Spectrogram with a log, linear or piano keyboard axis • A, C and Z weighting, Fast, Slow and Peak hold, FFT size 512 to 8192 • Keep a reference spectrum on screen to compare before and after TUNER • 35 instruments and a general mode: orchestral woodwinds, brass and strings, saxophones, acoustic guitar, piano, timpani, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel and bells • Each instrument has its own overtone pattern, so a piano string's stretched partials or a bell's partials read as one note instead of several • Show partials 2 to 4 beside the note, each tuned on its own lane, with five seconds of history • Note names with sharps or flats, German (B and H) or do re mi, set automatically by your phone's language • Transposes for B-flat, E-flat and F instruments • Concert pitch 440 or 442 Hz, or your own; green within ±3, ±5 or ±10 cents SOUND LEVEL METER • dB SPL with A, C or Z weighting, Fast or Slow, Leq, Lmax and L90 • NR and NC ratings of background noise, and prominent tones in third octaves (ISO 1996-2) • Calibrate with your measurement microphone's calibration file, its sensitivity in mV/Pa, or a sound calibrator • Uncalibrated, it shows an estimate and tells you how far off it may be REVERBERATION TIME • EDT, T20 and T30 per octave (ISO 3382) • Measured from a hand clap or a balloon pop, with a step-by-step guide: where to stand, when to clap • Average up to ten measurements and see the spread in each band RECORDING • Record the raw microphone signal as a lossless WAV file, at the device's own sample rate • Your recordings go to iCloud Drive and are in the Files app BUILT TO MEASURE On iPhone, Resonote switches off the voice processing iOS normally applies to the microphone, so the levels you see are what the microphone really picks up. It works with the built-in microphone and with wired or USB measurement microphones. With AirPods connected, it still measures with the iPhone's own microphone. No account, no ads, no tracking. All analysis happens on your phone.

What's New in Resonote

1.2

October 19, 2026

• Tuner: acoustic guitar • Tuner: a room's steady hum, in a train for example, no longer reads as a note • Tuner: the lanes say which way is flat and which is sharp, and an info button explains how to read them • Note names: do re mi, and Automatic, which follows your phone's language • The tuner asks once which instruments you play, then lists only those • Reverb: a step-by-step guide for the clap, and a simpler result: EDT, T20 and T30 per octave • Spectrum: fewer false peaks at the low end from room rumble • Z weighting now starts at 10 Hz, as IEC 61672-1 defines it • A measurement microphone's calibration file is applied only while a wired microphone is in use • With AirPods connected, the iPhone's own microphone measures; tones still play in your AirPods
