About
Retail Player turns an iPad into the music player of your shop, cafe or salon.
You keep your music in your own Dropbox account. Retail Player reads that folder, and you build playlists in a web dashboard. Each location holds a six-digit code. Type the code on the iPad, and it plays.
ONE DASHBOARD FOR EVERY LOCATION
Change the music of a shop in Leeds while you sit in London. Give 20 shops the same playlist, or give each one its own.
A SCHEDULE THAT FOLLOWS YOUR DAY
Play one playlist in the morning and another in the afternoon. Set your opening hours, and the music starts when you open and stops when you close.
MUSIC THAT DOES NOT STOP
The iPad downloads each track before it plays it. When the network drops, the music plays on from the iPad and the screen says so.
CONTROL FROM EITHER END
Skip a track, change the playlist or set the volume from the dashboard, or let the staff of the location do it on the iPad. You decide which.
A RECORD OF WHAT PLAYED
Read what played in each location and when, and read every silence and its reason.
WHAT RETAIL PLAYER IS NOT
Retail Player holds no music and sells no music. You supply your own audio files, and you hold the licences that let you play them in public. In the United Kingdom that usually means TheMusicLicence from PPL PRS.
Retail Player is a subscription service for a business.
