it’s like Instagram in the early 10s, when it was just your friends and goofy memories. no need to optimize, perfect, edit or stress about what ifs. love this app as an alternative to big socials

Ich bin megaaa begeistert von RETRO!!! Es ist viel intimer und harmloser als INSTA oder andere Apps 💗 Man kann sich mit seinen Freunden einfach durch Fotos updaten und schöne Momente teilen!

RETRO IS GREAT
Retro Makes it so easy to connect with my friends. I see it as instagram, but for people who aren’t quite ready for it yet. I can just post pictures to my week, add friends, and make albums so easily! If there is one thing I would change though, I think I’d want more options to edit your pics before you post them like on instagram and Snapchat. Just to give it an option to be more attractive. Other than that, I love the app!!!!!🫶😀👍🩶

It’s amazing how you can take photos whenever and post em whenever in between the time frame of a week and your friends do it also you can comment like and private reply on peoples post! If you want to have a fun app to enjoy time with friends through Photos and videos, retro is the one to help

Friends over algorithms
I love this app because it does exactly what it promises — connects you with your friends in a closed, predictable, chronological way, vs. being pushed things from a black box algorithm.
My two humble requests for the product team:
- The ability to turn off the “This Week in…” feature — I prefer to use this app to capture what’s happening currently. I have other apps for looking back & I just end up dismissing this feature constantly. I’d really love to be able to just disable this part of my week view entirely.
- Liking a photo in my friend’s feed also auto-advances the slides, and I’d like these two actions to be decoupled, as they are in the comments. But that could just be a personal preference.
