Love

I love this game so far. Very reminiscent of zoo tycoon from when I was a child. There a few bugs right now, but I feel confident that this game can be made into something fantastic. The dev is very active on socials and is also very receptive to bug feedback.

More games like this please

In case you’re wondering yes this is the sim game you’ve been looking for. No micro transactions, no dull prebuilt map grind. You start from scratch, follow a short tutorial and you’re off. Unlocking more customisation and animals as you go. Very addictive with a surprising amount of depth.

Almossstttttt

I love it. My only complaint is how you go into negative funds with zero warning and then you can’t really get out of the hole easily. I wish there was some kind of way to warn you when you’re about to spend all your cash. Other than that, I’ve enjoyed the game.

Response from developer

Thanks! I'm going to work on better treatment for when money is negative or low. It's one of the next improvements.

Great game

Very in depth and fun game. I’m looking forward to future projects.

One bug I noticed the bank wasn’t giving me money for the loans but I still had to pay them anyway.

Great game heaps of potential

Having an awesome time building zoos and getting creative. Found it a bit hard at the start to earn money but after a bit it’s sweet. Can’t wait for more game updates

Do not buy!

It constantly freezes. You have to close the game and reopen it constantly because of how much it freezes. Disappointing!

Response from developer

Please give me some more details and what device you're playing on so that I can diagnose this!

Great game, some balance and bug issues

Absolutely adore the gameplay loop and love the graphics. Game absolutely has the potential to be a 5/5 for me and I will continue playing it. I think the earning of conservation points is unbalanced (as in, they’re unnecessarily hard to get) and I’ve been focussed on getting the 150 needed to level up for the past hour, only to loose out because a bug with keepers feeding animals has an animal die of hunger. I’ve found issues with the game freezing and crashing which require me to restart the app. Keepers will be perfectly happy and have energy and good pay and will ignore going to habitats right next to them, causing issues with the animals. A couple of animals are upset by their favourite tree not being the correct biome for them. I would also love to see more information about animal breeding rates in the animal info, so I can work out where to focus my breeding program. Would also eventually love more decor options, more food/souvenir options etc. Truly is a great game though, will still be playing it!

Wonderful management sim

A love letter to the old Tycoon series of games. Well designed and refreshingly free of micro transactions and artificial slow downs. Definitely worth picking up!

Retro Zoo Tycoon!! Awesome

I’ve been looking for no idle tycoon games and I found this gem! It reminded me of zoo tycoon playing as a kid. This isn’t pay to win or wait 20 mins to build something junk. I like the game, it’s a really good base.

-Theres something off with the vendor/customer mechanics. Should be easier than it is to make money with a food cart. I get a thumbs down and still loose money.

-A screen to have an option to change all product prices at the same time would be nice.

-it’d be nice once you pull up your animals in zoo menu on top right to have the avg happiness for each animal type below all of them. As well as a back button to go back to looking at all animals. Or a screen that shows the animals with a happiness/health bar. To try and prevent over crowding or under population deaths. Something you can pull up real quick.

Great game keep up the good work! Worth the money buy it!

Thanks a lot and I'll get to work on all of that! :)

good fun, however

I love playing this game and I do have fun, however I would love to see
- when you are placing a path or enclosure it would be handy to see the dimensions e.g. 4x5 (4 squares length, 5 squares width) just to save you counting how big your enclosure needs to be so it’s quicker to meet the requirements of the animal.
Additionally I find it hard to make a good profit )…. this could just be me) but there needs to be service maintenance and shop maintenance. you also don’t get refunds if you misplace a tree or path tile or building which i find a bit inconvenient
otherwise a good fun game <3

Seems like it might be a good game

If only it was clear how to get through the tutorial, as the game does not show you how to change the biome. Spent about 25 minutes just burning all my cash trying different combinations until I ran out of money

A true labor of love

Extremely impressive, thoughtful, and well-executed on all fronts - can't wait to see what future updates will bring!
(Perhaps... dinos, at some point?)

No Microtransactions

This is a cute little game with an interesting spin on the conservation aspect. You go on expeditions to find new species for the zoo, then breed at the zoo and release back to the wild for conservation points.

Overall fun and refreshing. I have some small quality of life complaints that hopefully will be addressed in future updates.

1. The build menu is very frustrating because it is easy to accidentally build something (fence, path, tree, etc) but if you demolish it you don’t get your money back. This can lead to very frustrating lack of funds, especially early game. The phone doesn’t recognize two finger drag and instead builds something you don’t want essentially lighting your money on fire.

2. Menus have no back button. This means if I want to check the requirements for new animals in storage, I have to open the animal menu, open the list, click storage, look at one animal and be booted out only to have to add them all again. This is cumbersome.

3. When making new shops of the same type, it would be nice if the item price defaulted to the last price I set for that same item. Kind of annoying to add new shops and have to spend forever lowering the prices for everything.

4. It would be nice if I can see what item guests found too expensive when they leave reviews or if I click on them. If the guest purchased a bunch of things, I can estimate the expensive item should be what they didn’t purchase. But often you have to click many guests before finding one that bought multiple items. Maybe some extra graphs for each stand would help, tracking items sold and profit over time for each product making it easier to experiment.

Thanks for the input and I'm glad you're enjoying the game! The UI is going to be improved continuously so all of that is coming over the next updates :)

Too Difficult to Figure Out or Read

Bummer. Just can’t get into this after trying got a frustrating 10 minutes.

Response from developer

Can you go into more details about what difficulties you had? Have you tried the scaling options for the UI in the options?

Love

From what i’ve been able to play so far, it seems lol a cute game with a lot of mechanics to delve into. i’m especially glad to see that it’s a full game with one time purchase, no IAP junk. The dev seems to update addrressing issues as well!

Response from developer

Thanks for the review! If I may ask, what device are you playing the game on? Making sure that the game's UI works on all kinds of screens is continuous work. The next patch is coming very soon, let me know if it helps in your case! PS: The patch is out with improvements to UI scaling and a bigger limit to how much it can scale, let me know if it helps!

This is the iOS game I have been waiting for for years

An absolute classic recreation of the classic zoo tycoon genre with charming graphics and a wonderfully fulfilling gameplay loop. There is always someone to do, but if you get your zoo running just right everything ticks along nicely. Stress feee without being boring, great range of animals and decor, and lots of promise of more to come. Absolute A++ release and the most I’ve enjoyed an iOS game in ages.

a wish come true

I was just thinking a few months ago about how there hasn’t truly been a spiritual successor to zoo tycoon on iOS, and like a wish came true, I came across this game!

I was nervous to purchase this game—with just 2 reviews and some screenshots, I wasn’t sure about spending the money to buy the game upfront. I’ve only had this game for a maybe an hour now but it’s absolutely my new favorite:

1) you can name individual animals, have more than 2 adults and 2 babies in the exhibit, etc
2) you build the paths, plant the trees, make sure terrain is at the right balance, pick the appropriate fencing, and can check the animals’ happiness and compare to the guidebook to see how to improve

And I absolutely adore the new mechanisms the game designer put into place including expeditions to native environments to unlock new animals and plants, as well as the customers judging your zoo using a modern starring system.

All in all, this game deserves all of the stars, highly recommend and can’t wait to see where the designer takes it next ❤️❤️

Thanks a lot for the kind words. It's genuinely one of the best reviews I've ever received in my developer career. I'm really glad you're enjoying the game and that it scratches the itch for a zoo management game like the classics, which was exactly my goal creating it. I'd also like to let you know that I plan to keep working on it, improving it and adding more animals and features continuously for the foreseeable future :)

UI WAY too small

From what i’ve been able to play so far, it seems lol a cute game with a lot of mechanics to delve into. i’m especially glad to see that it’s a full game with one time purchase, no IAP junk. unfortunately, the UI is just way too small to actually play. i was surprised to find that it’s actually set to the maximum, and making it even smaller is just crazy! hope to see an update fix so i can explore more of the game.

A promising game !!

Got a little bit of game time, and I’m really enjoying it, and can’t believe something hasn’t been made sooner. My only gripe right now is the UI not fitting my device. Lots of cut off content, making it hard/confusing to navigate. Hopefully that’s an easy fix. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come!

Thanks a lot for the review! Can you reach out in either the game's reddit or discord with the screens that are having issues in your device?

Perfect Zoo simulation

This game does a great job of filling the need I’ve missed on iOS for a long time. Zoo games frequently are free games with tons of micro transactions. This is not that at all.

The game is brand new so more content will be available later but it is a great game once you figure out what you are doing. If you like Zoo Tycoon you will love this!
