About

RetroGrain is a vintage camera and retro photo editor that turns your everyday photos into authentic memories from another era. Give any picture the look of a 35mm film photo from the seventies, a Polaroid style instant shot from the eighties, a grainy VHS still from the nineties or a flash lit digicam photo from the early 2000s. There is no account, no subscription and no upload. Every edit is processed right on your phone and the editor works fully offline, so you can create old camera effects anywhere, anytime. TIME MACHINE, YOUR PHOTO IN ANY YEAR The Time Machine is the signature feature you will not find in any other retro camera app. Drag the year slider from 1970 to today and watch your photo travel through five decades of photography. Faded seventies film tones melt into warm eighties instant camera colors, then into nineties VHS texture and early 2000s pocket digicam flash. Every single year blends period accurate color science, film grain and analog artifacts, and the classic orange date stamp updates to match the era you choose. It is the fastest way to make a photo that truly feels like it was taken decades ago. THIRTY HANDCRAFTED FILTERS RetroGrain includes thirty carefully tuned filters covering every popular aesthetic. The retro and analog collection brings 35mm Film, Retro 70s, Polaroid, CCD Digicam, Flash 04, VHS, Lo-Fi and Cross Process. The modern collection covers Pro Light, Portrait, HDR Pop, Vivid, Night Mode, Foodie, Teal and Orange, Cinematic, Golden Hour, Steel, Neon, Matte, Cream, Nordic, Peach and Meadow. For timeless black and white photography and classic tones there are Sepia, Soft BW and Noir. Whether you want a subtle film look, a faded disposable camera vibe or a heavy grunge effect, there is a preset ready for it. REAL FILM GRAIN AND FULL CONTROL Every filter can be tuned to your taste. Adjust the filter intensity from subtle to full strength, add realistic film grain that looks organic instead of a flat overlay, and draw the eye with a natural vignette like an old lens would. Fine tune exposure, contrast, temperature and saturation like a pro photo editor. Add a dreamy soft glow for portraits and golden hour shots, stamp the corner with the nostalgic date stamp of classic point and shoot cameras, or tap shuffle and let RetroGrain roll a random combination of filter, grain and vignette for instant inspiration. MADE FOR YOUR AESTHETIC FEED If you love y2k aesthetic edits, dark academia moods, indie flash photos, lo-fi story posts or nostalgic photo dumps, RetroGrain gives your pictures the imperfect analog soul that modern phone cameras polish away. It is the ideal aesthetic photo editor for Instagram stories, TikTok posts and any feed that lives on nostalgia, and a perfect companion to your favorite dispo, film camera and photo booth apps. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your photos never leave your phone. All processing is one hundred percent on device, nothing is ever uploaded to a server and the app itself collects no personal data. There is no sign up and no tracking by the app, photo metadata such as location is never read or transmitted, and your original photo is never modified because every edit is saved as a brand new copy in your photo library. FREE, ACTUALLY FREE Every filter, every slider and every feature is unlocked for everyone from the first launch. There are no paywalls, no watermarks and no premium locks. RetroGrain is supported by unobtrusive ads that never appear while you are editing and never cover your photo. Pick a photo from your library, send one to RetroGrain from any app with the share menu or start with the built in sample image, and step into the Time Machine. Your next favorite photo is already waiting in 1970. Questions or feedback: ahmet.55ac2@gmail.com
