Perfect quick balance check
Doesn’t ask any info - just scan=balance. Offers places to top off your card, but doesn’t do it in the app so you don’t need to make an account.
Thank you for this easy safe option to check my card. I’m a tourist and trying to follow the rules so knowing the balance really helps me not over spend - I want to top off as needed not sink $50 into a card when I may be using the free tram in the CBD most of the time.

Hey, thanks for leaving this review. Reading it filled us with joy. We’re glad Rhyno is helping during your trip. Tip: if you catch a tram outside the cbd, touch your Myki on the reader as you step off - your balance will be up to date in the app quicker (15ish minutes instead of 12 hrs).

Very nice app to immediately topup. Is there anyway for it to show the touch-on status? There has been many occasions were I don’t remember if I have touched on or not, most of the time I have touched on however, because it’s a muscle memory thing can’t recollect if I have touched on or not.

Unlike the PTV app, Rhino just does its job without asking for a login.
PTV refuses to even show me my card unless I log in (I don’t know the login details right now), but Rhino just works and does exactly what it says on the tin.

Best Myki App
Rhyno is incredibly useful for all Melbourne commuters. It’s basic, simple, gets the job done and does it well. No extra rubbish on the side.
It takes seconds to add a Myki, doesn’t take any data. It does what it says on the tin. Fantastic!

1. Unlike the official app, this one respects its users privacy and does not send our data to third parties (whose name starts with a G and who track us everywhere).
2. The app actually works, is dead easy to use, while all the while consuming a fraction of my device’s resources to run.
3. The app’s developed by local Melbourne folk that actually care about their craft and, even more importantly, about their users.

This is a GREAT app
I have a few cards for family and friends visiting and this is a great app to check all the Myki balances in one spot. It can even show where the closest location to top up is and how to get there (if you want)!
Extra icons are cute and fun. Skeleton is my favourite :-) I highly recommend this app. It’s free, easy and I believe safe to use. No adds, only sign up once and that’s it.

Simple, does what I want it to do.
Nice, user friendly, intuitive interface. Stores user credentials for ease of use, unlike some other apps which make you enter your log in credentials each time, super annoying. Perfect for someone like me who doesn’t top up online anyway. Great job!
Can’t top on
I was looking for an app where I can store my card details and top on my myki without going through their website. But this app, although very well designed, but only lets you view your balance.
