Compound Time Beaming

Would be so nice if 6/8, 9/8, etc. were beamed properly.

Great Classroom Tool

This app helps so much in my classroom rhythm training exercises. Much more efficient than writing rhythms on the fly or using a set of cards that students end up memorizing.

I love that you can set it to generate a new rhythm every x repeats and that it can get progressively harder

Completely worth the purchase!

Thanks for much the the great review. I’m so pleased you’re finding useful in the classroom. Best, Joe

Constantly demanding payment

They call it free? Every time I hit the play button it just gives two options: pay every month or pay every year. Choosing Maybe later doesn’t free the app to continue functioning.

Response from developer

Hi, It’s free to play levels 1-4, or rhythms from the library (when you tap Shuffle at the top), or rhythms scanned from QR codes. You should only see the paywall if you’re trying to play a rhythm of a higher level, or shuffle a pattern from the library. If that’s not the case, please email me at support@polynome.net so I can help you get it working again. Best, Joe

Predatory paywalls

It puts paywalls to hear rhythms. This stoops to a new low as instead of gatekeeping features they limit your ability to play certain rhythms.

Response from developer

Hi there! I really appreciate you trying out Rhythm Generator and taking the time to leave a review. I totally understand how paywalls can feel frustrating, so let me explain how this one actually works: • I built the app so it’s free to install and you can generate as many rhythms as you like, no limits. • You can also play back basic rhythms at no cost—perfect for building your skills and experimenting. • When you try advanced rhythms, that’s when the small, clearly‑shown subscription prompt appears. That means you can see what advanced features cost before committing—but you don’t have to subscribe unless you choose to. So there’s no sneaky trick here—just a soft paywall that preserves free access to most features and only asks for support when you want more complexity. I wanted to make sure you can really experience the app first. If the advanced rhythms feel valuable to you, great—your subscription supports continued development. If not, no pressure at all. My hope is that this setup is respectful, transparent, and dependable. I’m always listening though—if there’s a better way to phrase the messaging, layout, or paywall experience, I’d love to hear your ideas. You can reach me anytime at support! Thanks again for giving Rhythm Generator a go. I hope you enjoy your practice, with or without the advanced features. 😊 Joe

Awsome

It’s great to use it for my drum lessons.

Great app!

I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Well done!

Response from developer

Thank you! I’m so pleased you like it. Some fun additions coming with the next update with the ability to shuffle imported rhythms.

Excellent

cool app but random pop up causing you to restart and you have to pay for the majority of the app.

Response from developer

Thanks Fredrick. You can use all functions of the app in the free version. It’s only the higher difficulty levels and custom rhythms that require the subscription. I’m already working on some great new features for the next update. May I ask how often you see the random popup? It shouldn’t show more than once a day, and you can just dismiss it and continue. You can email me at support@polynome.net. Best, Joe

I so wish i’d had access to this tool about 30 years ago..So clever, intuitive and fun. Inspired in every sense, thanks for this..gxX

Fantastic!

Its great, im a saxophone player (been learning for 2 years) and my tutor says i need to work on my rhythm so this is just what ive been looking for! I just practice and apply it to my notation.

Ace! Now more rhythms please!

This app is excellent. PLEASE add numbers like 9,10,11,13,15 that would be a true gem for us advanced musicians.

So much fun!

This is so much fun to play along with and really easy to use! I loved hitting the dice icon to shuffle to the next rhythm. Looking forward to working through all the difficulty levels!

Response from developer

Thanks for the great review - and have fun working through the harder levels!
