Still good

No Auv3 , but this is some gooooooooood stuff for midi cc recording.

Stands the test of time

Unreal

This app is an unreal bargain. I'm amazed at how easily it connected to Logic Pro. I love this, and there is no way you'll find anything better for this price. If you're reading this, buy this app. Absoluting no regrets! Thank you!

Easy DAW and VST Integration

Wow. What an amazing app - I use this for my virtual Orchestration MIDI Mock-Ups and it increased my workflow exponentially within 5 minutes of use. A future feature that might be useful for the looping function would be to set a fixed looping speed and zones on the CC faders. This will help solve some clunkiness with consistent and smooth looping for users that might want a fixed/consistent looping rate and zone.

Nice simple idea

Would be nice to be able to make sine patterns.

use to work on previous version of ios (before16)

love the app, just doesnt work since ios 16…

Do you support PG messages

It’s not immediately apparent if this is supported

One of a kind

My latest use case of Ribn was on the phone connected to Novation Bass Station 2 via usb, live on stage, and I’ve modulated the heck out of it. My amazing synth becomes a living organism when connected to Ribn!

This really is 110% Amazing

I can’t tell you how long I have been looking for an app that I can use solely for assigning Midi parameters to many iOS synths using Midi Learn, I have a Midi Keyboard Controller that I have to connect to my iPad just to assign the odd Midi Learn Parameter or two, but thanks to Ribn - not anymore 🥳 I saw a demo of Ribn by accident on YouTube and couldn’t believe my eyes! It really is a “must have app” it is now easy to control and assign any parameter with Midi Learn on any synth inside Cubasis 3 without making any connections by just sliding the app up from the bottom of the screen, just brilliant ⭐️ It would be good if there were more than three presets available for each set of eight faders, there are many different iOS synths having many controllable parameters.

There should be bulletin boards on the App Store that display various app categories such as MIDI, so that apps like Ribn can get the attention it deserves, I certainly would have purchased this app a long time ago if only I knew about it👍

Amazing!

Again, amazing! I have one feature request:
PAUSE. It would be so lovely to pause all ribns at once. I know I can just create a tiny movement to mimic this but I don’t always have 8 fingers free.

Thank you for the AMAZING MIDI CC LFO thingy!!!!!!!

iOS update broke it - please update app

A great app implementing a great idea. The problem with iOS updates is they break apps which you discover later on. I’m putting in my request to keep this one up to date.

until now, no support for ios 15:-((((

please update ribn:-)))))))

Was Incredible, Please Update!!!

Please update to work with iOS 15, and AUv3 would be incredible!

it works!

Set up for 10 min, great! Cutoff and other parameters work great. Now I want to go through markers and play/stop my playbacks via iphone. For that could you please add an option to choose between simple tap button and slider!

how do i use it?

i want to use it as a midi cont ctlr source on the ipad pro. i start the loop, assign cc #, choose destination open synth in midi on ribn,
go to the synth and assign the # in ribn to cc in the synth. play the synth . nothing happens. all examples are to control hardware, not internal ios synths, but it seems like it should do this. same setup works with midilfos app fine. i dont even know how to write the developer.

Potent concept ... Perfectly Executed

Simple - intuitive - and incredibly powerful. I love it!

UPDATE 2021: while I still make use of Ribn, I do wish it would receive a little maintenance... A little modernizing/updating? I'd gladly buy a new version that can be hosted as an AU; especially if one can record/store and recall automations between sessions. That would be an absolute dream.

But at a minimum, I wish that it would preserve its state/config for more than what seems like twenty minutes. As I'm using it, switching back and forth between Ribn/AUM - it will eventually open up in is initialized state - having lost all CC assignments / automation. :(

Even so, I love Ribn. I just wish it loved me back.

Perfect app for iOS & Ableton!

Simple & perfect! Thank u!!!

Good with Cubase

Managed to make this work with rtpMidi but not with a cable connection. It works great for Expression and Dynamics and personally I prefer the screen touch than a real fader. One downside, on iphone the screen does bot rotate and you have the short size for faders and that is a downside as Orchestral midi composers appreciate as much as possible travel on the fader. On ipad it does rotate but the darn thing tries to keep the faders side ways (so you get the sort side when on portrait orientation) but you can solve this by locking the screen orientation. It would be good a simple choice of orientation was available through the app’s settings. I lobe it for what it does and fills a serious gap in equipment that otherwise would require lots of money and it would not be as good as this is (long faders on ipads and great feeling).

Simple, elegant, and EXTREMELY useful!

I’ve only recently (re)discovered how far iOS has come in music making, and this is an essential tool! With the ease of assigning CC values to synth parameters in AUM, for example, Ribn gives me 8 modulators that I can set, or “draw” for looping variations, and easily change on-the-fly. It’s true that good things come in small packages because this simple little app does a wonderful job!!

Helpful

Please add pitch bend and aftertouch. The ribbon of the legendy cs80 does it perfectly. Put a finger anywhere defines the middle. From there you can go up and down (one octave)

This app is the reason because I purchased an iPad

Before buying the iPad I see many videos and reviews, in particular on Andy Othling Patreon. This app is, from my point of view, not only the reason I’ve purchased the iPad, but also an app that is much more valuable than what it costs. I can now easily automate Chase Bliss pedals like never before!

The only things I will add to this already great app, are:
— the possibility to control more than 8 channels (maybe allowing to open more instances of the app? I don’t know if it’s possible)
— the possibility to enter a custom range of values in a ribn. For example, one particular ribn I want to go from 0 to 10 or from 0 to 3, or from 65 to 120, so I can control more precisely some #cc.
— more colors!

(By the way I follow you on Youtube, you are awesome! Check out my channel, I’m f/0).
