About
Ridgeshot is a long-range marksman simulator built for the patient shooter.
One shot. One breath. One ridgeline lit by the last hour of daylight.
You are looking through a second-focal-plane illuminated scope at a target
between 100 and 800 yards away. The reticle is a Christmas-tree subtension —
each tick a precise hold for a known distance. Pick the right hold, settle
your breath, and squeeze.
THE FUNDAMENTALS
Ridgeshot is built around the four things that decide every long shot:
range, hold, wind, and timing. There are no power-ups, no aim-assist, no
forgiving margins. The reticle is honest. The ballistics are honest. If you
miss, you missed — and the next shot is yours to fix.
• Muzzle velocity 800 m/s, 200-yard zero, MIL-based holdovers
• Real bullet drop past 300 yards — the reticle's lower stadia matter
• Second-focal-plane illuminated reticle with red, green, or amber glow
• Brightness control for first light, midday, and last light
• Christmas-tree subtension for windage holds as well as elevation
THE RANGE
You shoot in dense wilderness scenes rendered procedurally in SceneKit. The
ridgeline silhouettes are dusk-quiet. The forest stands deep and charcoal
green. Brass and copper tones warm the metalwork. Nothing is a backdrop
photo — everything is geometry that responds to your position and your
distance to target.
TWO TARGET DISCIPLINES
• Olympic-style concentric rings for pure marksmanship
• 3D animated wildlife — whitetail deer, elk, pronghorn, and wild boar that
walk through the scene at distance. Lead the moving animal, wait for the
broadside, take the ethical shot.
iMESSAGE 1v1 — THE WHOLE GAME IN A BUBBLE
Ridgeshot ships with a full iMessage extension. Start a match from any
conversation, take your shot inside the bubble, send it back. Your opponent
sees your call, takes their own shot at their own distance, and the bubble
updates again. A match can live in a Messages thread for a week or finish
in five minutes. This is not a preview — it is the whole game.
GAME CENTER
Five leaderboards track the way real marksmen measure themselves:
• Global wins
• Longest confirmed shot (meters)
• Season high score
• Rolling accuracy percentage
• Olympic 10-ring hit count
PROCEDURAL EVERYTHING
Rifle, scope, animals, scenery, sound — all generated in code. AVAudioEngine
produces the rifle report and the wind through the timber. The frontier-feel
soundtrack is procedural too; no two evenings on the ridge sound the same.
No third-party assets, no canned loops.
WHO IT IS FOR
If you have spent time behind a real scope — at a club range, on a hunt, or
watching Olympic biathlon and wondering how those last shots stay so
clean — Ridgeshot is built for you. It rewards the same skills: range
estimation, wind reading, breath control, and the discipline to wait for
the shot.
UNIVERSAL & QUIET
• iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later
• No ads. No tracking. No in-app purchases. No subscriptions.
• No real-world weapon instruction. No human targets. No glorification.
Settle in. The light is fading. The wind is moving in the aspens. Take
your time.
