No Landscape?
I was excited to learn about this app, but I’m surprised that it only shows the library in portrait mode. I use an iPad with a Smart Keyboard so having to use the search function in portrait mode is kind of a problem. It’s ridiculously easy to make an app that works in both (or any) orientation, but they didn’t check the box? Laziness or incompetence?

Grew up with Mike era mst3k.
Introduced my son to RiffTrax and on weekends, we pop some corn and settle in for prime jokes by professional comedy professionals.
RiffTrax has an amazing catalogue; highly recommend the Best Friends sub, if you’ve got the scratch.
The app hasn’t given me any issues. My only suggestion would be to develop console support. I’d like to have it on the ps5 since that’s where I watch movies and shows.

I’ve loved RiffTrax for so many years now and I’m beyond thrilled that they even offer this iOS application. Thank you to everyone who made this happen and for all of your hard work and time put into bringing this wonderful app and service to iOS. If you love to laugh in life, you need RiffTrax in my opinion.
I just wish that this app was better optimized for the 2025 iPad Pro 13 inch please. Just optimized for the iPad at all would be great, hehe. I’m still super happy and grateful that we even have this app. It’s really a dream come true honestly. Thank you so much to everyone who has worked on this, you’re the best. But I’m not able to watch content I own or use the interface in fullscreen iPad Pro resolution unfortunately. Even even I click the expand to fullscreen button on the video it does not fill the entire screen. It only fills about a third of the screen I believe. The interface seems relegated to iPhone optimization only.
So, if you wouldn’t mind please optimizing this awesome app so that the interface and video playback were both fullscreen. Well, I would be very, very grateful for an update such as that. I’d even offer to help you do that if I could, if I was somehow helpful and it was possible. Thanks, again for even giving us this awesome application and God bless all of you at RiffTrax :D.

Even with the interface issues I just cannot give this app anything less than 5-stars. Yeah, it’s quite irritating not being able to use everything fullscreen and optimized for the iPad Pro. Yet, again, even having this app and that you finally made it possible to have this is a dream come true as a RiffTrax fan for so long now. Simple and straightforward all
I’ve been a Friends subscriber for a few months now and I’ve been beyond pleased with the value. The Rand-o-Riff button is great for indecisive people like myself. I haven’t had any issues with playback quality, and when my payment was a day late customer service was prompt and helpful getting me back on track the next day. If you’re a fan of MST3K, Cinematic Titanic, or The Film Crew, you probably don’t need to be convinced because you already have this. For those new to the riffing scene, I highly recommend this app. I’m glad I can support the team and wish them good fortune in the years to come.

Could be better
I would have rated it 3 stars but gave it an extra star just because I have an easy way to watch Rifftrax. Some suggestions: most importantly make searching better. I have the same problem on the website, there need to be more filter options. Also, on the episode pages themselves I wish there was more info about the original movie. But none of these are going to stop me from using it

I use it daily!
I have the Rifftrax app on my phone, iPad and all of my TV’s and never have problems. I highly recommend signing up for Friends as you can watch many many horrible movies made wonderful by the expert riffing of some of the funniest people on this planet

Updated app refuses to load
Since the update earlier this week the app has refused to load on my iPad Air. Prior to that update I never had any issues.
Landscape interface, please
I love Rifftrax! The app needs to allow landscape mode while browsing. It seems silly I have to flip it.

They Don’t Give You A Full Month
I signed up for this in December. They had a “free trial”. For whatever reason it now locks me out every single month for the first number of days even though it takes my monthly payment. I’ve had someone look into this and have been told each month they know abt the issue and it’s being worked on. But here we’re are in May and yet again I’m locked out.
It’s enraging and a ripoff.

Crashing
As of 5/1/24 the app will not open. The Rifftrax logo appears then a black screen with a “something’s wrong” message and a useless “go home” button. Please fix ASAP.
A great start, but…
While this is shaping up to be the an excellent app for us Rifftrax aficionados, it has a tendency to crash when streaming over AirPlay.
Another medium to inject rifftrax into my veins
As a Patreon and Rifftrax Friends member, apparently I can’t get enough of Rifftrax. This app is much appreciated. I love the Picture in Picture capability. I am amazed at how perfectly the app runs right out of the gate.
Needs to be Optimized for iPad
I agree with the previous reviewer. The app is good for an initial release and it functions as expected, but it really needs landscape support and better res for the movie art. This feels like an iPhone app that’s been stretched out.

FINALLY, a proper RiffTrax app for watching my library of movies! It works pretty well enough, although I’m hoping for an update to add missing features like landscape support, picture-in-picture and higher resolution art for all the movies. Keep up the riffing!
