Useful app

I have just looked into this app ,to make up for my lack of patience with the old fashioned gardening books, and find it to be very clear, easy to understand , with detailed plant descriptions and good photographs.

Useless

The first plant I searched for was a spider plant, nothing found.

Just the UK?

This app looks fantastic until I searched for zones and realized it doesn’t apply to the US.
Disappointed :(

Not as advertised, not free

The free function is only to browse plant information.
The bookmark and saving to My Garden function is only available on another app which you need to download and pay for (the Right Plant Pro app at £3.99) so these functions are not actually available on this app.

I love it !!

But I have one problem . I tried to search up poison ivy and it didn't search up anything even under common name . And why is all of the plants trouble free ? We should be able to learn about the potential danger if every plant so we are cautious around plants . Please update this app so I can still have fun with it .

Response from developer

Dear Bufflo, Thank you for your feedback. While this might not meet your needs exactly, in the search section, if you open filters, at the bottom, you can toggle the option to show poisonous plants only. Best, Right Plants Team

Options of Plants

Pretty cool app, just wish they had all plants, such as succulents, cacti & all other clarity’s of plants

Great app

This is a great app. I wish there were a reminders feature that allowed you to set up plant care reminders- with that this app would have everything I’m looking for.

I’m a very basic gardener

Two plants I’ve tried up to now a lavender and a fuchsia and I had to google both to find them to put in the app. So not really enjoying using it at the moment. Thought it would be easy to add the plants then understand how to look after them. But this isn’t the case

The App looks good but......

The developer is constantly wanting an approval rating - too much so - therefore very irritating - if they were patient they would get many more stars !

Awesome

Awesome app very informative and very helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone that is interested in growing any plants or vegetables.

Fantastic!

Great app, can’t believe it’s free and no annoying pop up ads! Loads of useful information and I love the ability to save a plant for future reference. Brilliant 👏👏👏

Great, but not free

This seems to be a good resource. However, if you want to get the most out of it by storing your favourites in ‘my garden’ or bookmarking anything to refer back to you have to pay £3.99 - so not actually free

You can’t start without giving up data

They either want my email address or my Facebook account. Can’t get past the start screen. I deleted it. So can’t really rate it. Can’t do this review without a rating. So gave it average only because it starts.

For outdoor plants only!

This seems like it might be a decent app but it seems to be for outdoor only. They should make that much more clear in the description.

Brilliant

Brilliant app. So glad I found it. Having garden redesigned in August and can’t wait to add all new plants as current shrubs have got out if hand

5 Star

I am fairly new to this app but am enjoying it very much. I have a lot of plants in my garden but am light years away from being expert so this is an excellent recording and educational tool for me. Happy gardening to all.

Ideal

Great for myself, as a novice gardener, to have on hand while pottering in the garden. Helps me remember not only what each plant is, but how to prune, treat and better arrange in my garden.
Can’t always find each plant, e.g Lavatera, I could only find by search through the marrows. I would also love a calendar feature, so I could look what I need to do in the garden from month to month. Overall though, it’s really helping to improve my knowledge.

Excellent app

Really easy to add to list of plants in the garden access to characteristics and care.

Bad, Restrictive Database; Shady “Trial”

When I downloaded this app it told me I had a 15 day trial but with no details on what that meant or what it’d cost afterwards.

In addition, the only way to add a plant to your personal list of plants is to find it in the database. If it’s not in the database, you’re completely unable to track that plant. None of my plants were in the database!

Response from developer

Dear Zach O’Toole, Thank you for your feedback. We will make it a priority to better explain how the trial works. Just to reassure, after the trial is finished, you can decide if you would like to signup for premium features. That process is by no means automatic. Also, functionality to add your own plants is something that we are considering. In the mean time, please get in touch with us at info@rightplants4me.co.uk with the list of plants that you could not find and we will do our best to add them as soon as possible.

Good in most ways

A decent personal garden plant record. Fantastic advice on growing pruning and conditions. Also Great that you can add notes, pictures of your own plants and bookmark favourites.
The reference library isn’t great. Can’t even find a common jasmine amongst many others. Also the interface is a bit limited as far as the indexes go... no A-Z search. The garden tips just keep repeating on the home page too.
But it’s almost there and certainly my first choice of gardening apps
