Rimtal brings the old Norse calendar to your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, the way the Vikings actually kept time: by the season, the week and the mark of the sun. THE DAY IN EIGHT MARKS Instead of a clock face, the day is read from the sun's direction across the sky. Eight day-marks (eyktir), from Miðnætti at north to Hádegi at south, show where the sun stands right now, with the Old Norse name, the compass bearing and the historical context for each one. TWELVE MONTHS WITH REAL HISTORY Every month carries its own name and origin, from Sólmánuður, the sun month of high summer, to the deep of winter.
