SCAM

I have been a ripple customer since January 10th, 2020. In 2020, I had no issues with the company. They provided the service I have been paying for, which is personal safety device monitoring for $109/year. (The alarm button is pushed 3x and they are supposed to call the police). In 2021, the ripple team started having terrible customer service. The alarm button started dying every 2 months and without the button, the service is useless. They’ve never once answered the phone and in 2021 they usually took several days to respond by email. Now in 2022 and 2023, the button has died every 3 weeks. Each time, I have to contact customer service to get a new button and the process takes a month to ship me a new one, so I go every other month without the service I’m paying for. In April of 2022, I pressed the ripple button 3x by accident, supposedly triggering them to call the police, but they never did. It took them several weeks and many outgoing phone calls for them to call me and apologize by giving me 3 free months of service. They didn’t deliver on the one act I have been paying for and had it been an emergency, I could’ve died. The customer service team is extremely unprofessional and when I asked for a tracking number for my ripple button shipment on 11/14/22, they sent me another customer’s private information by accident including her address, full name, and phone number and never apologized. My last ripple button died 12/24/22. I have emailed and called customer service 5 times since my button had died and I have received no response whatsoever. I want to end my annual subscription to their service which will be charged again on 7/10/23 and get a refund for the next 6 months I have already paid for, in which they seem to have no intention of servicing me, but I can’t get anyone to contact me from customer service. On Amazon reviews of their product, other customers have similar complaints and have hypothesized they’ve gone out of business but still charge

Works great so far

I have used this device quite a few times during the free trial and I really like it. I have used the Uncomfortable alert more then once and the team is very helpful. I recommend this device to anyone who is looking to have one extra item for their safety. I haven’t used the three clicks for emergencies yet, but I expect it to work just as good for when I need to.

In ’beta’ mode and needs improvement

I love the idea of this app, but the app frequently malfunctions and has severe limitations which I find frustrating.

1) when I input my profile information specific categories do not function and I am prohibited from accessing them. These categories include hair and eye color.

2) also in the profile section the save button should disappear once I have entered all my data and pressed save. How am I supposed to know my data is actually saved if I still see the save button?

3) It is unclear what water resistant meant for this device. Am I able to wear it in the shower and not the bath? Am I able to wear it on the rain? WHO KNOWS?!

4) Why does this app not sync up with the apple health app? Now I have to input my medications into both this app and the health app.

5) I would MUCH rather pay via a subscription through Apple pay (as is done in EVERY other app). It is annoying to have to input my credit card AGAIN into my phone

6) This app is simply NOT intuitive and will NOT work for the elderly

I expected more.

Small device, outstanding service!

From the safety team, to customer support, to one of the founders himself (Rees), outstanding service all around--friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and welcomes feedback. Small device looks like a charm and can be hooked or pinned onto a variety of things, making it easy to wear discreetly (or you can put it on a keychain, backpack, or purse, if you prefer).

Download the app, create an account, and pair your device to the app (get one from Amazon or www[dot]ripplesafety[dot]com). Click device once for non-emergencies and three or more times for emergencies to receive a call and text from Ripple. (Note: You need to be within Bluetooth range of your phone for this to work, and your phone needs to have service in order for Ripple to receive your alert and contact you.) Specify in the app's settings the emergency service to be dispatched in the event you can't be reached. You can also text Ripple after activating an alert if you're not available to talk. No non-emergency is too trivial, and don't worry about accidentally setting it off. They're really nice and just want you to feel safe. :)

$19.99 gets you the device and one month of service. It costs $10/mo. or $109/yr. to continue service. If you don't continue, you can use the device with emergency contacts for free until the non-replaceable battery dies (typically 4-6 months). If you pay for service, replacement devices are shipped to you at no extra charge. It's truly a no-brainer. Get it!!
