About
RiskBird runs the FAA Flight Risk Assessment Tool with the numbers filled in. Live METAR and TAF, runway length and wind components, your personal minimums, and last night's sleep answer most of the questions before you open the hangar door. You review, override what you disagree with, and get a scored assessment in about two minutes.
FAA FRAT, AUTO-FILLED
Thirteen questions from the official FAA form. RiskBird answers the weather, airport, pilot currency, and fatigue items from live data and shows the source for each one. Override any answer. You are the pilot in command.
PERSONAL MINIMUMS PER AIRCRAFT
Your crosswind limit in a 172 differs from your limit in a Cirrus. Set minimums for each aircraft you fly, starting from fifteen included general aviation templates. RiskBird scores current conditions against them.
LIVE WEATHER
Current METAR and TAF for over 12,000 US airports, plus an Apple Weather forecast for what to wear. Weather stays cached so the app works on the ramp with no signal.
RUNWAY ANALYSIS
Length, surface, headwind, and crosswind for the runway in use today, checked against your takeoff and landing distances and your crosswind limit.
PAVE BRIEFING
One screen that walks through Pilot, Aircraft, Environment, and External pressures with live conditions beside your minimums. Density altitude, reported conditions, and the forecast are included.
FATIGUE FROM APPLE HEALTH
With your permission, RiskBird reads last night's sleep from Apple Health for the IMSAFE check. Sleep data never leaves your phone.
SHARE WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Students send a completed assessment to their CFI before a solo or cross-country. Both of you see the same scores, weather, and overrides.
WIDGETS AND SIRI
Your current risk on the home screen. Ask Siri to start a preflight risk check.
OPEN IN GARMIN PILOT OR FOREFLIGHT
Send your route to your flight planning app with one tap.
RiskBird is an advisory tool. It does not make go/no-go decisions and does not replace an official weather briefing, current charts, or your judgment. The pilot in command is the final authority for the operation of the aircraft (14 CFR 91.3).
